Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, I’m gonna be straight with you—this is a tough one. The forecast for Titanzinho over the next two weeks is not looking like any kind of classic run of surf. We’ve got a consistent push of chest to just-over-head-high swell coming in, mostly around 4ft to 6ft, but it’s all coming from the east with a crappy short period around 6 to 7 seconds. That’s not groundswell—it’s windswell, and it’s not going to give you the kind of peeling lines this reef setup deserves.
The real issue is the wind. It’s locked in from the southeast and east-southeast at 12 to 19 mph for the whole outlook. That puts Titanzinho in a cross or cross-off position the entire time, with very few moments of true offshore. The morning sessions are often cleaner because the wind’s slightly cross-off, but the wave quality calls are either “poor surf conditions” or just “marginal.” The combined energy sits between 146 and 305 (moderate energy), but without decent period or favourable wind alignment, it’s just not coming together.
The water temperature is about average for the time of year, nothing weird going on there.
Let’s break it down day by day.
Starting Saturday the 4th of July, we’ve got 5ft swell out of the east, 6-second period, cross-off wind at 16 mph in the morning. It’s clean-looking but the energy is weak and short-period. Afternoon gets messy with cross-shore chop. Really not worth paddling out for.
Sunday the 5th is pretty similar—5ft to 5ft, still 6 seconds, still cross-off in the morning but again it’s marginal at best. The afternoon turns into a cross-shore mess.
Monday the 6th drops off a bit, swell down to 3ft in the morning with risk of thunderstorms. The energy drops to 161. Not your day.
Tuesday the 7th brings a slight bump—6ft in the morning, period stretches to 7 seconds, energy hits 305 (moderate). It’s the highest energy of the week and it’s clean in the morning. This is the one standout window in the first week. If you’re going to paddle out, Tuesday morning is your best shot. Still, that east swell with short period is gonna make the reef section a bit fat and lumpy. Not classic Titanzinho.
From Wednesday the 8th right through to Saturday the 11th, it’s a boring stretch. Swell hangs around 4ft to 5ft, period 6 seconds, energy between 163 and 208. Winds stay cross or cross-off, afternoons are always chopped. Nothing to get excited about.
Sunday the 12th through Wednesday the 15th, the swell picks back up to 5ft to 5ft, still 6 to 7 seconds. Energy climbs back into the low 200s to mid 200s. Tuesday the 14th morning has clean conditions with that cross-off, but it’s still the same short-period east slop. Not going to be memorable.
Thursday the 16th and Friday the 17th see a dip again—4ft to 5ft, periods stuck at 6 seconds. Energy drops to 132 on Thursday afternoon. Another meh stretch.
The last weekend, Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th, stays the same. Sunday the 19th morning is the only other “marginal” call in the whole run, with 5ft east swell at 7 seconds and clean cross-off wind, energy at 236. But it’s the same story: short-period, average quality.
Look, if you’re desperate, Tuesday morning the 7th and maybe Sunday morning the 19th are your best bets—clean windows with the most energy. But this is a two-week stretch where the reef just isn’t firing. The setup looks more interesting for a kite session with that side-shore wind and consistent chest-high lines than for a proper paddle surf. The crowds at Titanzinho are often out, but honestly, with no standout quality, you won’t have to fight for waves.
