Alright, Rusty here again. Let’s break down the same outlook for our American friends.
The water temp is 57°F, which is right on the historical average, so no drama there. The first few days have some promise, but we’ve got a beast of a swell coming that’s going to be blown out.
Friday the 10th is your best early call. Morning sees a clean 5ft SW groundswell (15-second period) with a light cross-off breeze from the north at 9 mph. The wave energy is solid (1193), but those long-period sets will be spaced out. For a beach and reef break, the long period can make things a bit straight, but the afternoon goes glassy with a light air and 5ft swell. It’s not epic, but it’s clean and fun for a beginner-friendly spot.
Then the wind goes nuclear from the north on Saturday, hitting 28-31 mph, trashing the 3-4ft swell. Sunday and Monday are a total wipeout for surfing. We’re looking at 10ft to 12ft SW swells, but the wind is screaming from the NW and W, turning the ocean into a mess. This is kite-surfing weather, not paddle surfing. The combined energy hits 9617 on Tuesday afternoon—that’s a ton of power, but it’s all ropy cross-onshore junk.
Wednesday the 15th is a standout on paper, but with a big ‘if’. The swell is still a hefty 10ft SW, and the wind drops to a gentle breeze from the WNW. The notes say the wind and tide are good, but the swell is just too big for this break. At over 8ft, this is experts only. If you’re a local charger, the morning might be on, but expect some cross-shore chop.
Thursday the 16th afternoon is the real jewel. The swell drops to a clean 6ft SW, and it’s *glassy*—ENE wind at just 3 mph. That’s a rare, smooth surface. The period is 14 seconds, still a groundswell, so expect some proper lines. The energy is moderate (1292), and it’s labeled for experienced surfers, so it’s got some grunt. This is the pick of the pack.
Friday the 17th morning keeps the clean theme with a 7ft SW groundswell (16-second period) and a light cross-offshore breeze. The combined energy is 2207, but again, the swell is on the big side for this spot. It’s good for the experts.
After that, the wind picks up again from Saturday the 18th, and the swell fades fast. The rest of the run into the 20s is mostly windy and small, with a marginal moment on the 24th (Friday) afternoon where we get a 5ft SW swell and a light cross-off breeze, but it’s a long way out and the wind could change.
So, the best calls are Friday the 10th afternoon for a clean, fun session, and Thursday the 16th afternoon for that glassy, quality swell. The big mid-week swell is for the hardcore only.
Rusty.
