Rusty here, checking in on Polihale.
It’s gonna be a quiet start, my friend. The next few days have tiny 0.3ft to 1ft waves, and even when a little 1ft swell shows up on Friday the 10th, the energy is weak (65). Don’t bother. The first real chance comes Saturday afternoon, the 11th. We get a pulse of 2ft swell from the SW with a very long period of 18 seconds. The energy jumps to 206 (moderate) and the wind is light out of the ENE, keeping things clean.
Sunday the 12th is the big energy day. We’ve got a 6ft to 6ft NE swell, but it’s short period (8 seconds). The energy is strong, hitting 445 and 471. The wind is light cross-offshore, so the waves will be clean. That size is expert territory—definitely not for beginners. The short period might make it a bit disorganized, but there’ll be some powerful, punchy waves.
Looking into the second week, Monday the 13th afternoon cleans up with a 1ft W swell at 18 seconds and light winds. The real standout stretch is from Tuesday the 14th morning through Wednesday the 15th afternoon. We get a consistent 3ft to 3ft W swell (16-18 second period) with moderate energy in the 390-413 range. The wind is light to glassy, especially Wednesday afternoon when it goes glass. That long period groundswell will be great for the sandbar, but it can break a bit straight, so you’ll need to pick the right peak. Crowds are possible here.
After that, it fades. Thursday the 16th still has some 2ft left, but by Friday the 17th we’re back to weak 2ft waves. The rest looks poor, with tiny 0.7ft to 1ft waves and very low energy.
So, best bet? Saturday the 11th afternoon and Sunday the 12th for the biggest size, but the real quality session is Wednesday the 15th afternoon – clean, glassy 3ft W swell at a long 16 seconds, with moderate energy (396). That’s your day.
The water temp is about average for the time of year, so it’s fine.
Rusty, signing off.
