Table - best surf conditions forecast for Playa de Tranqueru over the next 16 days.
Alright, this is Rusty. Let's have a look at what's on the menu for Playa de Tranqueru.
Right now, we’re in a bit of a flat spell. For the next week, it’s pretty much a write-off. We’ve got tiny, weak little waves that barely reach your shins, and the energy is just not there. The combined swell energy is barely hitting triple digits most days, staying as low as 59 feet and up to 71 feet of energy in the water. You’ll be staring at a mix of cross-onshore breezes and some glassy mornings that just don’t have any push behind them. It’s going to be a long slog of poor surf conditions from now right through to July 19th, with nothing worth paddling out for.
Then, finally, we get a pulse. On the morning of Saturday, July 20th, the swell starts to fill in. We’re looking at a 5ft swell from the NNW, with a combined energy of 311 feet. The morning is glassy, with a slight air and that clean, windless surface. That’s the standout moment of the whole outlook. For an intermediate crew, that’s the call. The swell direction at 5ft with a 8-second period is a good match for the break’s preferred NW direction, and it’s consistent.
The rest of that week and into the next is a mixed bag. The afternoons on the 20th and 21st get chopped up by onshore wind, and the energy drops back down. We get another small, cleaner window on the morning of Friday, July 24th, with 2ft NW swell and 117 feet of energy, but the conditions are just ordinary. Then Saturday the 25th morning is glassy again with 3ft from the NNW, but again, the scores are low.
The real sleeper for the experts is right at the tail end. On Monday, July 27th, the swell jumps to 7ft from the NW, with a long 10-second period. The combined energy is a whopping 922 feet. That’s big, and it’s only for the brave. But Tuesday morning, July 28th, is the absolute gem: a 7ft NW swell with an 11-second period, pumping out 1197 feet of energy, and glassy conditions. That’s a session for the experienced crew only, the kind of day that makes you forgive the flat spell.
Keep in mind that Playa de Tranqueru is a fairly exposed beach here, and crowds are sometimes a thing, so if you get that Tuesday morning, get there early.
This is Rusty, signing off.
