The Lowdown

Alright, Rusty here. Let's see what Playa de Galizano has in store for us.

It's a quiet start, no lie. The first few days are blown out with onshore wind and nothing worth paddling for. You'll be standing on the sand, not in the water. By Tuesday 10 September, the wind turns cross-offshore from the east and the surf cleans up to about 3 to 4 ft from the NNW. It's not big, but it's rideable for a beginner. The water temp is a touch warmer than usual at 71°.

The standout session is Sunday 13 September, first light. The swell hits 5 ft from the NNW with a long 13-second period, pushing a heavy 749 combined energy. The wind is glassy and clean from the east-northeast. That's your best wave of the whole forecast. With that long period, expect some proper lines, especially if you find a good bank. The afternoon holds up but the wind gets a bit stiffer.

The following week is a slow fade. Monday 14 September still has some clean, waist-high sets, but by midweek it's small and choppy again. The last chance for a decent wave is around Saturday 19 September, but the wind is messy and the conditions are marginal. The morning of 20 September might offer a clean 3 ft wave, but it's nothing special.

Your one to aim for: the morning of Sunday 13 September. Everything else is just small or blown out.

Rusty.
