Table - best surf conditions forecast for Pantin over the next 16 days.
Alright, let’s get into it for Pantin. Honestly, the next sixteen days look pretty flat and average. We’ve got a long stretch of poor conditions coming up, so don’t get your hopes up.
The water is sitting at 61°, which is a bit colder than normal for this time of year, so you’ll want a decent wetsuit.
The first sign of anything surfable isn’t until Friday morning, July 10th. We’re looking at 3ft of WNW swell with a 9-second period. The energy is weak, about 107 (moderate wave energy), but the wind is glassy, which is a big plus. The waves will be clean, but they’re just small and ordinary. Saturday morning, July 11th, is similar, with 3ft of WNW swell, a 10-second period, and glassy conditions, giving us a bit more energy at 173 (moderate wave energy). It’s surfable, but nothing to write home about.
After that Saturday morning, it goes dead quiet. We’re looking at a long gap of nothing but poor, messy conditions right through until the morning of Saturday July 18th. That’s over a week of onshore wind and tiny, chopped-up waves.
On Saturday July 18th, the swell picks up to 3ft from the WNW, but the period drops to a short 6 seconds, and the wind is cross-on, so it’s still pretty poor. The energy climbs to 186 (moderate wave energy), but the quality isn’t there.
The best of a bad bunch is around the morning of Sunday July 19th. The swell bumps up to 4ft from the NW, with an 8-second period, and the energy is a more noticeable 223 (moderate wave energy). The wind is light and cross-shore, so it’s not completely blown out. It’s still marginal, but it’s the best we’re going to see. The morning of Monday July 20th is similar, with 3ft from the WNW and energy of 202 (moderate wave energy), but again, just marginal.
Further out, the morning of Friday July 24th offers the biggest swell of the window at 6ft from the WNW, with an 8-second period and strong energy at 385 (strong wave energy). But the wind is cross-on, so it’s going to be messy. At 6ft, it’s getting a bit too big for beginners, but the poor wind keeps it from being a winner for anyone else.
Overall, it’s a pretty grim outlook. The only windows worth a look are those glassy mornings on July 10th and 11th for a tiny, clean wave, and then the marginal, slightly bigger, but cross-shore conditions on the morning of July 19th and 20th. Keep your expectations low.
