Table - best surf conditions forecast for Pantin over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, it's Rusty here, and I’ve got the long-range look at Pantin for you. First thing to get out of the way: for the next week or so, things are looking pretty flat and sloppy. The water’s sitting at 61°, which is notably colder than normal for this time of year, so you’ll want a good 4/3 for the few small windows we get.
Starting off, the weekend is a dud. Saturday afternoon has a tiny 3ft swell from the WNW with a lumpy cross-shore wind from the NE at 22 mph. The wave energy is weak (222), and conditions are just poor. Sunday isn’t much better, with a drop to 2ft and the wind switching onshore.
Monday the 13th of July finally shows a tiny glimmer. The morning brings glassy conditions with a light SW wind at 3 mph. The swell is only 3ft from the NNE, and the energy is low (94), but the clean surface makes it *just* surfable. It’s a pathetic little wave, but you might get a few grovelly ones if you’re desperate. The following morning on Tuesday the 14th is also glassy, with a 2ft swell from the NNE, but again, the energy is weak (115).
We then hit a long gap of really poor, small, and choppy conditions right through until the following weekend.
The first real standout pops up on Monday morning, the 20th of July. Conditions clean right up with a cross-offshore wind from the ENE at 9 mph. The swell picks up to a clean 4ft from the NNW, with a moderate energy level (210). This is your first genuinely good session in the forecast – clean lines, a decent little push, and the break is very consistent. Crowds are likely, though, so get there early.
Tuesday morning, the 21st of July, keeps things going. Another clean morning with a cross-offshore SSW breeze at 9 mph. The swell is slightly bigger at 5ft from the north, and the energy is solid (206). This is another good window before the wind swings onshore in the afternoon.
After that, we hit another flat spell. Then, look out for the morning of Saturday the 25th of July. We’ve got a big pulse of swell filling in, hitting 8ft from the NW with a solid 10-second period. The wave energy is massive – very strong at (1102). However, the wind is a moderate cross-shore from the SW at 12 mph, making it choppy. This swell size is really only for experts, and the chop will make it a grunty, challenging session. Sunday the 26th sees the swell dropping to 5ft from the NW, still with a fair bit of energy (449), but the wind turns cross-onshore and choppy again in the afternoon.
So, to sum it up: the first week is nearly a write-off. The real pick of the entire 16-day window is Monday morning, the 20th of July, with clean 4ft NNW swell, followed closely by Tuesday morning the 21st. That big swell on the 25th is for the brave and the well-experienced only.
Stay frothy.
