Table - best surf conditions forecast for Pantin over the next 16 days.
Alright, let's get real about Pantin for the next two weeks. Rusty here, and it's a tough one to call.
Frankly, it’s a pretty bleak outlook. We're in for a long stretch of tiny, gutless surf with crummy cross and cross-onshore winds. The first week is a total dud – you'd be better off waxing your board for the sake of it. The water's a bit chilly at 62°F, running cooler than usual for July. The overall wave energy is weak, with most readings in the double digits (e.g., 90, 109) or low triple digits (111, 122). It's a waiting game.
We finally see a pulse of life on Monday, July 13th. The morning swell pushes to 3ft from the N with a 10-second period. The combined energy hits 209, which is an improvement, but it's still described as marginal. The wind is a light cross-onshore, so it'll be messy. The afternoon switches to a light offshore from the NW, but the swell backs off and turns weird.
The one real standout, if you can call it that, arrives way down the line on Thursday, July 23rd. That morning we get a jump to 5ft from the NW. The period is short at 7 seconds, so expect fat, kinda crumbly waves, but the combined energy is a solid 298 – the biggest of the whole run. It's still only 'marginal,' but that's the best we've got. The wind is cross from the SW, which isn't helping. That afternoon the wind goes cross-onshore and the whole thing turns to chop.
Beginners, steer clear of that 23rd – 5ft with onshore chop is a recipe for a bad time.
So there you have it. A whole lot of flat waiting for a couple of average, marginal days. This beach break setup is not doing us any favors. If the wind ever decides to play nice, you might snag a few, but this forecast doesn't inspire much hope.
Rusty.
