Table - best surf conditions forecast for Nobbys Reef over the next 16 days.
Alright, let's get into it. This is a tough one for us, I'm not gonna lie. The first ten days or so are basically a write-off for any proper surfing. The good news is, it looks like things might finally turn around around July 26th, so there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
Right now, and for the next week and a half, it's flat and messy. We're looking at tiny waves, mostly under 3 ft, with the odd pulse of weak energy. The water temp is sitting at about 66°F, which is pretty much spot on for this time of year.
The first real sign of life comes on Sunday morning, July 26th, at Nobbys Reef. We're looking at a clean 5 ft swell out of the SSW, with a gentle offshore breeze. The energy is moderate (379). It’s not perfect, but after all this nothing, it feels like a blessing.
But the standout, the real one to circle on your calendar, is the Sunday afternoon session on the 26th. The swell jumps to a solid 7 ft from the S, moderate period of 8 seconds, and the wind is a clean offshore from the NW. The wave energy is strong at 569, and it’s looking very good. This is the best on offer, no question. It's going to be a bit too big for beginners, but for the advanced crew, this is the session. The crowd is "sometimes" a factor, so expect some company if you're paddling out.
Monday the 27th still has some decent leftover swell around 5-7 ft, with light winds and even a glassy period in the afternoon. That's another good window. After that, it fades back down into the ordinary stuff by Tuesday.
So, hold tight, it’s a long wait, but the 26th and 27th look like they’ll be worth it. Promising, but we've still got a ways to go.
Rusty.
