Alright, this is Rusty. Let's have a look at what's on the table for the next 16 days here.
Alright, straight up, I'm not gonna lie to you—this is a tough stretch. The swell is real inconsistent and the conditions are fighting us every step of the way. We're looking at Massaguacu, a sheltered spot that's best with an ESE direction, and the water temp is sitting at 73°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year. Feels good on the skin, but the surf? Not so much.
We kick off on Thursday the 3rd with basically nothing—1 foot of weak, short-period swell and glassy conditions, but it's just too small to even bother. That sets the tone for the next few days. Friday the 4th morning gives us a little hope with 3 feet from the ESE and glassy, light air, but it's still barely surfable. The energy is there (110), but it's marginal. Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th are a write-off with tiny swell and rain. This is a real dry spell.
The first flicker of something decent shows up on Tuesday the 8th. We get a solid 5 feet from the ESE, but the period is a short 7 seconds and the wind is cross-on shore. The energy jumps to a moderate 230, but the conditions are poor. Wednesday the 9th morning is glassy again with 5 feet, but still cross-on. It's frustrating.
Now, pay attention to Thursday the 10th. We get a morning of calm, glassy conditions with 5 feet from the ESE at 8 seconds. The energy is up to 253 (moderate), and the wind is off the land—WNW. That's a clean window. This is the best we've got. It's not a stand-out for the ages, but it's the one morning where you can paddle out and get a few tidy ones without battling the wind. The break is inconsistent, so you'll be sitting and waiting, but the sets that come through will be clean.
Friday the 11th and Saturday the 12th mornings offer more glassy or clean conditions with swell around 3 feet to 4 feet, but the energy drops off. The rest of the forecast is a grind of onshore winds, rain, and fading swell. By the time we get to Wednesday the 16th, there's a 3 foot groundswell from the SE with a period of 11 seconds and glassy morning conditions, but it's small and the energy is only moderate (195).
Overall, if you're desperate, keep your eyes on Thursday the 10th morning. That's the one clear shot. Otherwise, it's a waiting game.
