The Lowdown
Alright, crew, Rusty here with the long-range look. Let's be honest, it's a flat, choppy mess for the most part. We've got a long stretch of poor options. Don't get your hopes up.
The first few days are junk. Wednesday the 9th is a total loss with a strong cross-shore wind and messy 3ft waves. Thursday the 10th goes glassy but tiny, with 2ft of weak, ordinary surf. The weekend is even smaller, with ankle-biters on Saturday the 12th. Sunday the 13th morning has a little more push at 2ft with a longer 12-second period, but it's nothing special.
There’s a few clean windows, like Monday the 14th morning with a light offshore, but the swell is weak. The first real bump of energy comes on Wednesday the 16th afternoon with 4ft waves, but it's onshore, rainy, and messy. A total write-off.
Your best bet is the morning of Monday the 21st. The swell builds to 4ft from the west with a 10-second period, and the wind is clean and cross-offshore. There's some decent energy there (360). It’s a reef break, it's inconsistent, and it's over a week away, so treat it as promising but far from certain. The afternoon looks to blow out, so get on it early.
Water temp is sitting at 72°F, which is much warmer than usual for this time of year. A nice touch, at least. But otherwise, it's a long, flat stretch. The setup looks more interesting for kite surfing on those windy days than for getting a proper paddle in. Stay tuned, but don't hold your breath.
Rusty.
