Table - best surf conditions forecast for Hawaiizinho over the next 16 days.
Alright, let’s see what’s on the cards for Hawaiizinho.
Honestly, mate, it’s a rough stretch ahead. We’ve got a solid 16-day window here, but right off the bat there’s a big gap of nothing good. The first real sniff of anything decent doesn’t show up until Monday the 13th, and even that’s just barely surfable. So you’re looking at a pretty bleak start with nearly three days of flat or junk conditions before we even get a whisper of a wave.
Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th are total write-offs. Cross-onshore winds, choppy water, and the wave comment is flat-out “poor surf conditions.” The swell is tiny – around 3ft to 3ft from the SE – and the energy is weak to moderate (279 to 393 on the combined scale). Not worth paddling out.
Sunday the 12th shows a little tease. Morning has a “marginal” call, swell 3ft from the SE, period 12 seconds, and a cross-shore wind. The combined energy drops to 241 – still weak. Afternoon turns back to poor. Not your day.
Monday the 13th is where it gets interesting, and this is the only real standout worth talking about in the whole outlook. Early morning at Hawaiizinho (a river break), we’ve got 2ft of SE swell, period 11 seconds, and a clean wind. The wind is coming from the NNE, so it’s cross-offshore – that’s a major positive. It’s glassy, it’s clean. The energy is low (124), but for a river break with that light offshore flow, the shape could be fun on a longboard or a foily. The water temp is 80°F, which is about average for the time of year, so no drama there. Crowds can be a thing here sometimes, so you might have company. This is the best on offer, but keep your expectations small.
After Monday, it goes south again. Tuesday the 14th morning has a weird one – 4ft from the ENE but with a period of only 6 seconds. That’s short-period windswell, messy, and the wind is cross-shore. The energy is moderate at 204, but the quality is marginal. After that, it’s almost all poor, onshore, or stormy through to the end of the third week.
There’s a faint glimmer way out on Saturday the 25th – that’s eight days away, so treat it as a long-range hope. Early morning shows 4ft from the ESE, period 8 seconds, and glassy conditions with a light NE breeze. The wind state says “glass,” which is rare and special. The combined energy is 232 (moderate). The wave comment even says “expect good surf conditions,” which is the only time in the whole run we see that. It’s the best prospect in the second week, but it’s a long way off and could change.
For the rest of it? Lots of onshore wind, rain showers, storm risk. The swell picks up a bit mid-week (July 16-17) with 5ft to 6ft from the SE, but the wind is onshore or cross-onshore and it’s choppy. That kind of size and slop is more interesting for kite surfing than a paddle. The energy hits four digits (1169) on Thursday the 16th morning – strong energy – but with poor conditions, it’s not for the average surfer.
Honestly, if you’re keen, pencil in Monday morning the 13th for a small, clean session, and keep an eye on Saturday the 25th for a potential glassy dawn patrol. Otherwise, it’s a waiting game.
Rusty.
