Table - best surf conditions forecast for Disappearing Sands over the next 16 days.
Alright, grab your wettie and have a listen. Rusty here.
Right off the bat, it’s a lean start. We're looking at a solid run of days where the surf is pretty much a no-go. The waves are tiny, and the wind isn't playing ball. Things look a bit grim through that first week or so.
The only real action on the horizon is shaping up around Disappearing Sands. This spot is a beginner wave, but it's inconsistent, so don't always expect it to be working.
The first real flicker of life hits on Saturday, July 11th in the afternoon. We get a glassy surface and a tiny 2 ft swell pushing in from the SSW. The energy is moderate (314), and for a moment, the conditions line up for a surf. It’s tiny, but clean.
Sunday the 12th has a similar vibe in the afternoon—another glassy window with 2 ft swell from the SW and moderate energy (340). Again, not big, but at least it’s rideable and clean.
The real standout, and I mean the one to circle on the calendar, is Wednesday, July 15th in the afternoon. The swell bumps up a notch to 3 ft from the WNW, with a period of 16 seconds. That’s a proper groundswell. The energy jumps to a solid 593—strong power for such a small wave. But the key here is the wind: it’s glassy. That means clean, peeling little lines. The swell direction matches the optimum for this break. For a beginner spot, this is about as good as it gets in this outlook.
A quick heads-up: the water temp is sitting at about 81°F, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, so the water feels nice.
Beyond that, there isn't much else. The weeks following show more onshore junk and tiny waves, so that Wednesday afternoon really is the peak.
Rusty.
