The Lowdown
Alright, this is Rusty comin' at ya from the beach. Let's have a look at what's on the cards for Bronte Beach over the next couple of weeks.
Look, I'm not gonna lie to you, this is a pretty lean stretch. The first few days are a write-off, with nothing but weak, short-period windswell and bumpy conditions. The ocean is just a mess. You'd be better off staying in bed or getting a coffee.
We finally get a sniff of something decent on Sunday the 23rd. The morning is the call. We've got 3ft of clean, glassy groundswell rolling in from the south. The energy is moderate, comin' in at 208, and with the glassy conditions, it'll be a welcome change. It's not gonna be huge, but it’ll be clean and a whole lot better than what we've had. The wind is light north-easterly in the arvo, so get out early for the best of it.
The real standout, and I mean the one to circle on the calendar, is Saturday the 29th. The afternoon session is looking like the pick of the whole forecast. The swell bumps up to 4ft from the south, the energy is solid at 231, and the wind goes completely glassy. It's going to be a rare, beautiful afternoon of clean, lined-up waves. This is the one you don't want to miss.
Then we get another cracker on Sunday the 30th. The morning brings a clean 5ft easterly groundswell pushing 319 units of energy, and it's glassy again. That's a proper, fun size for a beach break, but it's pushing into the territory where beginners might want to sit it out. The water temp is about average for this time of year, feelin' fine.
After that, it gets a bit messy again. A solid 5ft to 6ft of easterly swell hangs around into Monday the 31st, but the wind is a factor. The morning has offshore winds which will keep it clean, but it's a solid size. The afternoon gets sloppy. That's about it for the real highlights, the rest of the second week is a mix of small, weak, and windy.
So, to sum it up: get out for the glassy windows on Sunday the 23rd morning, but the absolute best is the glassy Saturday 29th afternoon.
Rusty.
