Table - best surf conditions forecast for Anglet - Marinella over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's on the cards for our local stretch.
To be straight with you, the next couple of weeks are looking pretty quiet. We've got a real flat spell on the horizon. The first bit of any real surfable energy doesn't show up until Saturday the 12th, and even then it's nothing to write home about. From the start of the outlook until that Saturday morning, it's a dead zone – no recommendations worth a crack. So, you're looking at a few days of staring at a flat ocean.
Saturday 12th July Morning
The first real chance comes on Saturday morning. Anglet - Marinella will see a small 2ft swell rolling in from the WNW, coming in at a 10-second period. The combined energy is weak, sitting at 65. The real winner here is the wind – a light offshore from the East at just 3 mph. That's going to put a nice clean face on the waves. The water temp is a notable 76°F, which is a massive 7° warmer than normal for this time of year, so it's going to feel like a warm bath. This is a beginner-friendly wave, but with the offshore wind, it'll be a fun little session for a longboard or a foamie. It's fairly consistent, and crowds can happen at times, so get out early.
Saturday 12th July Afternoon & Sunday 13th July
The afternoon picks up a cross-onshore breeze, turning it messy. Conditions drop off quickly. Sunday morning is worth a mention – a tiny 2ft WNW swell with a light offshore again – but the energy is even lower at 56. It's surfable, but very ordinary. By Sunday afternoon, the wind shifts onshore and it's a no-go.
Monday 14th July Onwards
Through the rest of the week it's a real struggle. The swell tries to pick up Monday morning, hitting 4ft, but that's a messy, short-period 7-second windswell from the WNW, and the onshore wind kills any chance of a clean wave. The combined energy hits 120, but with poor conditions, it's not worth paddling out for. The rest of the week is a washout of small, choppy, and onshore slop.
The Only Real Standout: Wednesday 23rd July Morning
Looking into the second week, there's one morning that stands out from the gloom. On Wednesday the 23rd of July, the morning session at Anglet - Marinella looks promising. The swell jumps to 4ft from the NNW with a 7-second period. The combined energy is a solid 196 (moderate). The wind is the key here – a light offshore from the NE at 3 mph, making it cross-off and clean. The waves will be surfable, but let's be honest, it's a long-range call and the wave comment says "very ordinary conditions" – so don't expect perfection. It's the best of a quiet bunch.
The Rest of the Second Week
For the rest of the second week, it's more of the same: small, onshore, and messy. The morning of Sunday the 26th of July sees a tiny 1ft NW swell, but with a clean offshore breeze from the ESE, making it glassy. The energy is a paltry 32, so it's barely a ripple. You'd be better off taking the dog for a walk.
So, bottom line: the forecast is flat. The only real window to get wet is a few hours on Saturday morning and maybe a hopeful look at the 23rd of July. If you're desperate, keep an eye on the charts, but otherwise, don't hold your breath.
Rusty.
