Table - best surf conditions forecast for Alfagar over the next 16 days.
Alright, grab your coffee and listen up. Rusty here, giving you the straight-up story on the local surf for the next couple of weeks. To be honest, we're in a bit of a flat spell to start. The swell is barely a whisper, with combined wave energy stuck in the weak range, mostly between 10 and 92. We're looking at a whole lot of days with tiny, weak waves.
Right now, for the morning of July 13th, it's glassy and calm at first, but the swell is a weak 2 ft out of the W at a short 7 seconds – not enough push to do much with. This quiet pattern holds through the entire week and into the next. There’s a stretch from July 13th right through to July 23rd where the surf is basically a write-off. The afternoons get chopped up by cross-shore winds, and even the clean morning windows only offer small, knee-high dribbles.
Finally, there's a flicker of life around July 24th. The Friday morning shows some 2 ft swell from the WNW with a bit more period at 9 seconds, and a light offshore wind. The wave energy bumps up to a moderate 79. It’s still small, but it'll be clean. Then on July 27th, we get our one true standout. The Monday morning of July 27th sees a jump in size with 5 ft from the NW, and that combined energy rockets up to a strong 513. The wind is cross-off and the swell period is 8 seconds. This one is for the experienced crew only – that's solid, punchy size for a beach and reef setup like this, and it could get a bit unruly for beginners. The afternoon of the 27th looks even bigger at 6 ft. It’s the one period with real, rideable power, so if you're an expert, circle that date.
As for the water, it's feeling about average for the time of year.
That’s the long and short of it. A long quiet spell, then one solid window for the skilled guys. Keep an eye on the charts, though. It tends not to stay flat forever.
Rusty.
