Table - best surf conditions forecast for Trevone Bay over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's get straight into it for Trevone Bay.
Honestly, it's a pretty grim outlook for the next week or so. We're looking at a long stretch of small, weak, messy waves. For the first eleven days, the swell is just barely ticking over with very low energy – we're talking numbers in the 30s and 40s in the energy department – and the wind is almost never your friend. It's going to be mostly cross-shore or onshore, which will keep things choppy and uninviting. From the 12th right through to the 22nd, it's a real struggle to find anything worthwhile. You'd be better off doing something else.
The first real flicker of hope doesn't show up until Sunday the 19th in the morning. The swell bumps up a little, to about 5 ft from the north, and we finally get a bit of a cross-off breeze out of the east. The energy climbs to 197 which is at least moderate, but it's only a single window before the wind swings back onshore in the afternoon. You might snag a few grovelly ones if you're desperate and on a foamy.
Then things get weird. On Monday the 27th, the swell absolutely pumps up to 10 ft from the west with a long period of 10 seconds. The energy reading is huge – 1446 – but here's the kicker: it's too big and the setup is all wrong for this spot. The wind is onshore and the swell is just too powerful for Trevone. That's expert-only territory and even then, it's not going to be pretty. For the average surfer, that day is a no-go.
So, what's the one standout? Honestly, there isn't one that's worth the trip. The best you could hope for is a very brief window on the morning of the 19th if you're a beginner wanting to splash around in clean-ish, small surf. But for anyone looking for a proper session, this 16-day run is a blank. It's a quiet time of year for the area, so it's not totally unexpected, but it's frustrating nonetheless.
Stay patient, and keep an eye on the forecasts – it tends not to stay this flat for long.
Rusty.
