Table - best surf conditions forecast for Trevone Bay over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's take a good look at what's on the cards for Trevone Bay over the next couple of weeks.
Right from the off, things are looking a bit flat and ordinary. There's a small window of surf on Friday the 10th, with a tiny 3ft swell from the west. The wave energy is only moderate (134). The water is much warmer than usual for this time of year at 64°F, which is a bit of a talking point, but the conditions are just average. The wind is light and cross-offshore, so if you're a beginner, you might get a few knee-high wobblers, but it’s nothing to write home about.
From Friday afternoon onwards, and right through the second week until the 21st of July, we’ve got a long, dry spell. For over a week, it's basically poor surf conditions with tiny, weak swells and onshore or cross-shore winds. There are a few clean moments, but the swell is so small it’s not worth paddling out for. Even the glassy conditions on the 12th and 17th are dealing with tiny, short-period dribble.
Now, here’s a glimmer of hope for those who can wait. On the 22nd of July, things finally look promising. Wednesday morning brings a solid 6ft swell from the west, with a period of 7 seconds. The wave energy jumps up to a strong 342. The wind is gentle and offshore from the southeast, setting up clean lines. This is surfable for intermediate to experienced crew, but that 6ft is getting a little too big for beginners. Wednesday afternoon holds up nicely with a 5ft west swell and a light cross-offshore wind, keeping conditions clean.
The standout session by a mile is Wednesday the 22nd of July, morning and afternoon, at Trevone Bay. That's where you want to be. The 22nd of July is the best on offer, but everything else in this 16-day stretch is a write-off.
Rusty.
