The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here again, giving you the same rundown in feet and miles.
For Towradgi, the next week and a half is pretty flat and crappy. The water’s about 64°F, just a bit warmer than average. You’re looking at a long stretch of nothing good. The first real chance to get wet is on the morning of Friday, August 28th. There’s a clean offshore breeze from the NNW and a small 3ft swell from the south, with a 10-second period. The combined energy is moderate at 206, and with light air and clean conditions, it’s your best bet for a fun, small session.
After that, it’s quiet again until Sunday, August 30th, when the swell really starts to pump. On Sunday, you’ve got a 7ft to 8ft S swell, but the wind is onshore from the ENE, making it choppy. The energy jumps to 749 and then 1568 – plenty of power, but messy. Monday the 31st gets serious: a 12ft cross-onshore mess in the morning, then a 16ft S swell in the afternoon with a massive 13945 energy. The wind is howling from the ENE at 12-15 mph, making it rough and ugly. This is for experts only.
The real standout is the morning of Tuesday, September 1st. You’ve got a 15ft S swell, 12-second period, and even though the wind is cross-onshore from the NE at 12 mph, the energy is a massive 9530. It’s the best of the big, raw stuff. Not for beginners – this is heavy, powerful surf.
Through the 2nd and 3rd of September, the swell stays big at 7ft to 12ft from the SE, but the wind stays onshore, so it’s never clean. For the whole 16 days, the only real standout is that Friday the 28th morning session – small, clean, and the most enjoyable waves you’ll see. The big stuff is just for the hardcore.
Rusty signing off.
