Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, let's get into it for Towradgi. This reef breaks consistent, exposed to the southeast, and picks up swell well. Water temps are sitting about 19°, running a degree warmer than average for this time of year – nothing wild, just a little above normal.
The first few days are a bit rough to start. Tuesday afternoon brings a 3.5m swell out of the SE, 11-second period – that's groundswell for sure. Combined energy is 4881, so plenty of power. But the wind is cross at 20 km/h from the south, so it's choppy. Not the best call.
Wednesday morning cleans up a little. Swell drops to 2.4m from the SSE with a cross-off breeze. Energy is still high at 1405. That size is getting into expert territory.
Thursday morning the 9th shows 1.6m from the SE, period at 10 seconds, light cross-off wind. Energy is moderate at 721. Clean and surfable – a good morning.
The standout moment is Friday morning the 10th of July. Only 1.4m of SE swell, period at 9 seconds, but the wind goes glassy – flat calm from the SW at 5 km/h. Combined energy is low at 325, but the ocean will be like a mirror. Crowds are only “sometimes” an issue here, so you could score a clean, empty reef. That's your best bet.
After that, it drops off fast. Sunday the 12th is down to 0.6m with strong offshore winds – too small. There’s a gap of a few days with barely anything rideable from the 12th to the 14th.
Things pick up slowly from the 14th. By Wednesday the 15th, we’ve got 1.3m from the S, 11-second period, and glassy conditions again in the morning. Nice, but modest.
Thursday the 16th sees a 2.0m SSE groundswell roll in with a 12-second period. Combined energy jumps to 1645. The wind is light cross from the S, so it’s not perfect, but it’s a solid, powerful swell. Worth a look.
Now, looking further out to Wednesday the 22nd of July, we get a bigger pulse: 2.5m from the SE, period at 9 seconds. Energy at 1057, with a moderate offshore wind. That’s clean and punchy – for experienced surfers only. The afternoon pushes 3.0m from the SSE with fresh offshore wind and energy at 2233. That’s a powerful, clean wave, but very heavy. If you’re an expert, that’s a date to circle.
So the picks: Friday the 10th for a glassy, clean session. Thursday the 16th for a bigger, solid groundswell. And if you’ve got the skill, the 22nd of July is a beast.
Stay stoked,
Rusty
