Table - best surf conditions forecast for Sandtracks over the next 16 days.
Alright, this is Rusty comin' at ya from the coast. Let’s get straight into it. Honestly, it’s a tough stretch for Sandtracks. For the next week and a half, we’ve got a real run of nothing to get excited about. Right through from now until about the 18th of July, it’s pretty much all blown-out mess or just straight-up poor surf.
The water temp is sittin’ at 79.5°, which is pretty well normal for mid-July, so no complaints on the comfort front.
The first whiff of something that might hold a rail doesn't come until Saturday, the 18th of July. That morning offers up a 5.2ft swell swingin’ in from the ENE, but the period is a short and weak 8 seconds. Wind is a fresh cross-shore at 15.5 mph. The combined swell energy is moderate-high, reading 701, but with that short period, there’s no shape to it. This is for the more experienced crew only, and honestly, it’s still a marginal call. Might be more fun for a kite out there than a paddle.
We then roll into a couple more marginal days, but the real stand-out – and I mean the only highlight in this whole 16-day window – is shaping up for Monday the 27th of July. Now, this is a long way out, so don’t book the week off yet, but the charts are hintin’ at something. We’ve got a solid 3.3ft swell from the E, but with a much nicer period of 15 seconds. That’s a groundswell, boys – proper energy. The combined energy hits a strong 944, and the wind looks a bit lighter, a moderate cross-shore at 12.4 mph. This is way out in the second week though, so keep your fingers crossed. If it holds, that’s your session.
So to wrap it up: for the next nine days, you’re better off takin’ the dog for a walk. Sunday the 18th might give the experts a short, punchy wave, but the real one to watch is Monday the 27th. That’s the one with potential.
Short Range ForecastSome drizzle, heaviest during Tue afternoon. Warm (max 26°C on Sun afternoon, min 24°C on Sun night). Winds decreasing (fresh winds from the ENE on Sun afternoon, light winds from the ENE by Tue night). | Days 5-7 Weather SummarySome drizzle, heaviest during Wed night. Warm (max 27°C on Thu afternoon, min 24°C on Thu night). Mainly fresh winds. | ||||||||||||||||||||
