Table - best surf conditions forecast for Rhos-On-Sea over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here again, and I’m telling you the same story in feet and degrees. This 16-day look at Rhos-On-Sea is a tough one. The water is 66°F, which is a solid 7°F warmer than usual for this time of year – that’s a real surprise when you’re floating out there. But the surf? Mostly a bust.
We start Sunday the 12th with a tiny 2ft swell from the NE, but it’s a short-period, weak windswell with a combined energy of only 14. That onshore ENE wind at 12 mph is making it a mess – poor surf conditions. That flat, weak pattern sticks around for days. Through Monday the 13th and Tuesday the 14th, we’re stuck with the same: small, choppy, and not worth the rubber. The combined energy barely hits 16 on the best of those days. There’s a gap of several days with no real recommendation.
The first hint of something better doesn’t show until Saturday the 19th, with a 4ft NW swell, a period of 6 seconds, and a combined energy of 67. Winds are light and cross-shore, so it’s not blown out, but the period is short – just a weak, disorganized windswell. Still “poor surf conditions.” This is for the patient.
The real standouts, and the only two moments that look any good, are on Monday the 20th. The morning shows a 3ft NW swell (30 energy) with a nice cross-offshore breeze from the WNW at 9 mph. That’s clean. The afternoon is a bit smaller at 2ft (13 energy), but still with that sweet cross-offshore wind. For a break that’s inconsistent and fairly exposed, this is your window. It’s not big, but it’s the cleanest we’ll see.
After that, it’s flat again. A tiny 0.7ft bump on Friday the 24th afternoon, but it’s a joke with 1 energy. The rest of the second week is a desert of zeros. The forecast can change, but right now, if you’re not surfing Monday the 20th, you’re better off waiting.
Rusty.
