Table - best surf conditions forecast for Northcott over the next 16 days.

Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's take a look at what Northcott has in store for us. Gotta be straight with you, this is a tough one. The next couple of weeks are looking pretty bleak for a proper paddle. There's a lot of clean, offshore wind in the early days, but the swell just isn't there to back it up. We're looking at a long dry spell.

The first real chance of anything surfable doesn't show up until Sunday the 19th of July. Even then, it's a modest 3ft of swell from the north, with a short 5-second period. The wind is cross-offshore, so it'll be clean, but the waves will be weak and mushy. The swell energy is low, clocking in at only 67 (weak energy). It's a glass-half-full option for a longboard or a foiler, but not much else.

We then get a bit of a bump on Wednesday the 22nd of July. The swell picks up to 6ft from the west-northwest, with a period of 7 seconds. The energy jumps to 315 (moderate wave energy), which is more interesting, but the wind is cross-shore, making conditions a bit clunky. This is a step up, but it's not a standout.

The real event, and the only true standout in this whole forecast, is happening on Friday the 24th of July. The swell is set to pump from the west at 12ft to 13ft, with a period of 10–11 seconds, which is a proper groundswell. The combined energy is massive at 2652 to 4046 (very strong wave energy). The wind is off-shore and light, promising clean, powerful faces. However, and this is a big one, this swell is too big for Northcott. It's a solid 13ft, way over the 8ft mark, making it for experts only, and even then, it's predicted to be too big for this break. The raw power is there, but it's more of a spectacle than a surfable day for most.

The following Saturday, the 25th, the swell drops to 8ft from the west with an 11-second period, but the wind turns onshore and the tide conditions are questionable, as per the forecast. So, it's not worth getting excited about.

To sum it up: the first week and a half is a write-off with tiny, weak waves. The only real pulse of energy comes on the 24th of July, but it's a beast that will likely close out the break or be unruly. It's a frustrating forecast, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Rusty out.
