The Lowdown
Alright, let’s have a look at what’s cooking over the next couple of weeks.
Right off the bat, I gotta be straight with you – it’s a tough run. The whole 16-day window is pretty much a flat spell for La Nartelle. The charts are showing next to nothing, and the first real sign of any life is a tiny 0.7ft pulse from the SSE on Friday the 17th, but even that’s only got a 3-second period and the water temp is sitting at 81°, which is far warmer than you’d expect for this time of year. It’s not going to be worth paddling out for.
There’s a gap of a few days with nothing at all, and then we get a bit of a tease on the morning of Thursday the 24th of July. The swell pushes up to 3ft from the ENE with a 6-second period, and the combined energy hits 61 (moderate). The wind is a clean cross-offshore from the WNW, so the conditions would be nice and clean. Still, 3ft isn’t exactly going to fire, and it’s a short-period swell, so it’ll be a bit weak and wonky. It’s the best on offer, but that’s not saying much.
After that, we fall back into a very quiet pattern. Through the end of July and into the start of August, the swell barely scrapes past 1ft. The morning of Wednesday the 30th of July brings another 2ft swell from the S, with a 7-second period and 52 units of combined energy (moderate), and the wind is a light cross-offshore from the NNW. Glassy and clean, but again, just too small to get excited about.
Honestly, for a spot that’s already inconsistent, this is a real blank run. The only thing that looks even remotely interesting is the morning of the 24th of July, and even that’s a very marginal call. If you’re desperate for a splash, that’s your window. Otherwise, keep the board in the car and wait for the charts to change.
Check in again soon – it can’t stay this flat forever.
