Table - best surf conditions forecast for La Nartelle over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s get straight into it.
First up, I’m looking at the next 16 days for La Nartelle, and honestly, I’ve got to call it like it is – there’s almost nothing to get excited about. The surf window is basically a flat spell. The first real tiny bump we see is on the morning of Saturday, July 11th, with a weak 1ft from the east. That’s a 4-second period, so no push, and the combined energy is just 2. Honestly, it’s not worth paddling out for.
The water temp at La Nartelle is sitting at 78°, which is a massive 7° warmer than normal for this time of year. That’s very unusual – you’ll feel like you’re surfing in a warm bath, but don’t expect any waves to go with it.
The pattern is pretty grim. There’s a long stretch of days with zero surf, or just tiny 0.5ft to 1ft dribble with short periods of 3 to 5 seconds. The wind is mostly cross-on or onshore, making the rare tiny bumps even uglier. From Thursday, July 17th, the wind turns properly offshore from the WNW, but there’s no swell to go with it – just clean, flat water. That’s a cruel tease.
The best of a bad lot might be the afternoon of Saturday, July 11th, when we do see a 3ft east swell, but it’s got a 5-second period, it’s onshore from the ENE at 12 mph, and the combined energy is only 36. It’s going to be a messy, weak, close-out situation. Not a stand-out by any stretch – just the least bad option.
For the rest of the outlook, from July 13th to July 24th, it’s a sea of zeros. A few moments of glassy or offshore wind, but without any swell, it’s just a flat, clean lake. The morning of July 22nd has a strong 25 mph offshore wind and a 0.5ft south swell – that’s a kite-surfing setup, not a surfer’s dream.
So, to be honest, there’s no real standout here. If you’re desperate, the afternoon of July 11th might give you a few weak, choppy crumbles, but I’d be checking the forecast again in a few days. This area tends to have quiet spells, and this is a long one.
Rusty.
