Table - best surf conditions forecast for La Nartelle over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s take a look at what’s cookin’ for the next couple of weeks.
Right off the bat, I gotta tell ya, it’s a pretty grim outlook for La Nartelle. The water’s sitting at 77° – that’s much warmer than normal for this time of year, feels like bathwater. But that’s about the only thing worth mentioning for a while.
We’re looking at a big ol’ gap with no surf on offer. Starting from now, Tuesday the 7th of July, right through to Wednesday morning the 9th, there’s absolutely nothing. Zero energy. Just flat, choppy conditions with a side of onshore junk.
Things finally try to wake up on Thursday the 9th, but it’s a real struggle. Thursday morning we get a tiny 1ft swell from the ENE, with a period of just 3 seconds – that’s pure windswell, no push at all. Winds are cross-onshore from the NE at 9 mph, making it messy. The combined energy is a weak 3. Thursday afternoon offers the same tiny 1ft from the ESE, but it’s onshore wind, and the energy only nudges up to 4. Not worth paddling out.
Friday the 10th is even smaller – 0.7ft and 1ft waves with barely any energy (1), all blown out by onshore or cross-onshore winds. Saturday the 11th sees a slight bump: 2ft in the morning from the E (energy 28), and 4ft in the afternoon from the E (energy 64). But with onshore wind from the ENE hitting 16 mph in the afternoon, it’s gonna be a choppy, blown-out mess. Not a fun session.
Sunday the 12th is the closest we get to a highlight, and that’s not saying much. The morning shows a 3ft swell from the ENE with a 6-second period, and the wind is a light cross-shore from the NNE at just 3 mph. That gives us some small, clean-ish lines, and the combined energy hits 103 – that’s moderate. The afternoon drops back to 2ft with cross-onshore winds, so the morning is your only real window. Given the break is sheltered and inconsistent, and the swell direction is from the ENE, it’s just about rideable for a beginner looking for a cruise.
For the rest of the week after Sunday, it’s back to flatness. From Monday the 13th all the way through to Wednesday the 22nd of July, it’s a proper desert. A tiny blip of 1ft on Thursday the 16th, another 1ft on Sunday the 19th with glassy conditions in the morning (that energy is only 3), and then nothing again. The morning of Tuesday the 21st is glassy but flat as a pancake. The afternoon of Wednesday the 22nd gives us a clean 1ft from the E, but with only 1 unit of energy, it’s barely a ripple.
So, the honest truth: there is no standout session here. The only real suggestion is Sunday the 12th, early. It'll be small, clean, and that’s about all you can ask for. For the rest? Leave the board at home.
Rusty.
