Table - best surf conditions forecast for Guidel Plages over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cooking for the next couple of weeks.
Alright, I gotta be straight with you – it’s a tough stretch ahead for Guidel Plages. The first solid recommendation doesn't come until very late in the window, and even then, conditions are far from perfect. The next few days are full of small, weak swells and messy wind. We’re looking at a long gap of about two weeks where the surf is just not worth paddling out for.
The water temp is sitting at 65°, which is about 2° warmer than usual for this time of year. Nothing wild, just a touch on the balmy side.
The only real standout, and I’m calling it a potential one, is Friday the 24th of July. The morning session shows a pulse of swell pushing 3ft from the W with a combined energy of 106 (moderate). The wind is light and cross-onshore, which will keep things a bit bumpy but ridable. The period is a short 6 seconds, so it’ll be a bit lumpy and without much push, but it’s the biggest wave of the whole run. The afternoon sees a slight bump to 4ft but the wind whips up to 19 mph, turning it into a lumpy, cross-onshore mess. So, if you want the best of a bad bunch, Friday morning the 24th is your shot. It’s still not great, but it’s the only thing that pokes its head above the water.
For the rest of it, there’s nothing. The swell is tiny, often under 2ft, and the wind is either onshore or cross-off with no real push. For a spot that’s very consistent, this is a real lull. It won’t stay this way forever, but for now, I’d say find something else to do.
Rusty.
