Table - best surf conditions forecast for Antibes - Fort Carre over the next 16 days.

Alright, let’s get real about this forecast for Antibes – Fort Carre. Honestly, mate, it’s looking grim. We’re staring down a 16-day window with practically nothing to get excited about.

Right off the bat, we’ve got a very long stretch of flatness. From the start of the period through to the 14th of July, there’s barely a ripple. We’re talking about a gap of days with no surf to recommend. The first real chance at anything rideable comes on the morning of the 15th, but even then it’s just a tiny 1 ft swell from the south with a short period.

The water temp is a whopping 80°, which is *much* warmer than normal for this time of year – feels like a bath, but that doesn’t help the waves.

The entire forecast is plagued by tiny, weak swells with combined energy readings in the single digits or low teens. The wave comment is consistently “poor surf conditions,” and the scores are all zeros. This reef break is supposed to be best with an easterly swell, but the energy is just pathetic. The highest we see is a combined energy of 26 on the 12th for a 2 ft easterly, but it’s cross-on with a light breeze, making it a total mess.

For a brief moment on the 21st of July, we get a glassy morning with a calm wind, but the swell is only 2 ft from the SSW with a period of 4 seconds. That’s just wind chop. It’s not worth paddling out for.

The pattern is clear: long, long gaps with no swell, and when a tiny bump does show up, the wind is usually wrong or the period is too short. This setup is so weak and inconsistent that it genuinely looks more interesting for a kite surfer than a paddle surfer, especially on the afternoons when the sea breeze picks up and creates a bit of chop.

To be honest, there are no standouts here. The best you could hope for is a glassy morning on the 21st with a tiny, weak wave, but even then, it’s nothing to write home about. For an area like this, a blank run this long is a bit more normal than we’d like, but it’s still a bummer. Forecasts can always change, but right now, I’d leave the boards at home.

Rusty.
