Table - best surf conditions forecast for Forster Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright, grab your board, it's Rusty here with the outlook for Forster Beach.
We’ve got a solid run of surf kicking off now, but it’s not all smooth sailing. The first big pulse hits straight away on Wednesday morning, July 8. A solid 9.8ft SSE groundswell with an 11-second period is pumping in, and the combined energy is a hefty 2145, so there’s real power behind it. The wind is blowing cross-off from the SSW, keeping the face clean. This is serious wave height – definitely for experienced surfers only. If you’re not comfortable in overhead, heaving surf, give this one a miss. The morning session is the pick; by afternoon the wind swings to a cross-shore S breeze and the quality drops off.
Thursday morning, July 9, sees a smaller but still fun 7.5ft SE swell, 10-second period, with a light cross-off breeze. The energy is moderate at 1030. Conditions are clean, but the swell is a bit more manageable. Still, 7.5ft is pushing the beginner limit. Friday July 10 brings a smaller 5.9ft SE swell, with offshore WSW wind – sweet and clean. That’s a good option for the intermediate crowd. The afternoon turns cross-on, so stick to the morning.
Saturday July 11 offers a tidy 3.9ft SE swell with a 9-second period, light cross-off wind from the NW. Clean and easy – perfect for a fun session on a log or a fish. Sunday morning July 12 is tiny, 2.6ft, with a strong offshore W wind (19 mph). The waves are small but glassy; it’s a longboard day if you’re desperate.
Now Monday July 13 – that’s a standout. A clean 4.9ft SSW groundswell, 10-second period, with offshore wind from the WNW. The energy is 765, moderate but punchy. The morning is gentle offshore, the afternoon a bit stronger. This is the best all-rounder of the week: nice size, clean, and not too big for the average surfer. Tuesday July 14 drops off to 2.3ft – not worth a paddle.
Then we hit a quieter spell until Thursday July 16. That morning brings a 8.2ft S swell, 10-second period, with cross-off SSW wind. The combined energy is huge at 2444, but the forecast flags it as marginal – possibly tricky tide. Still, for the experienced crew, this is a solid option. The afternoon turns messy with a strong S wind and lumpy conditions.
Friday July 17 is a write-off – strong onshore SSE wind, lumpy. Saturday and Sunday are tiny and choppy. The following week stays small, with a brief blip on Tuesday July 21 – a glassy 2.9ft NE windswell,
