Table - best surf conditions forecast for Forster Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright, this is Rusty comin' at ya. Let's see what this stretch has in store for us.
The pattern starts off with a bit of energy, but we've got a bit of a wait before things clean up. We'll see a few windows of opportunity, but also some real slop that you'll want to avoid.
The best bet on offer looks like the morning of Saturday, July 11th. We're looking at a clean 3ft swell out of the ESE at a solid 12 seconds. That's a groundswell with moderate energy (511), and with a light cross-offshore breeze, Forster Beach should be offering up some really clean, workable lines. It's a beginner-friendly spot anyway, and this is about as good as it gets for that kind of setup. Keep in mind it can get crowded here often, so get in early.
The next good call is Monday morning, July 13th. The swell drops off a bit to 4ft from the SW but the period is a short 7 seconds, so it'll be a little weaker (272). Still, the light cross-offshore wind will keep the surface clean, making for some fun, playful waves.
Tuesday morning, July 14th, the swell drops right off to 2ft (56), so it'll be weak. The wind is clean offshore, but there's just not enough push for a proper session.
We get a pulse mid-week, but Wednesday, July 15th, has a 7ft southerly swell (656) but it's getting smashed by a moderate breeze, making it messy and poor. The afternoon gets bigger, hitting 10ft from the south (1631) with a fresh cross-shore wind – that’s big, lumpy, and only for the experienced, if anyone. Honestly, that looks more like a windsurfing day than a surf day.
Thursday the 16th is similar – a solid 7ft (938 in the arvo) but with messy, choppy conditions from the onshore wind. A miss.
The following period looks quieter. Saturday morning, July 19th, is a real standout though. Swell is 4ft from the east (409) and the wind is glassy-light and cross-offshore. That's gonna be a beautiful, clean session at Forster Beach. Then Monday morning, July 20th, gives us another clean one: 5ft from the east (545) and a light cross-offshore breeze.
Wednesday morning, July 22nd, looks promising for bigger-wave hunters. We've got a clean 5ft from the SSW (515) with a light offshore breeze, so the conditions will be there. Same goes for Thursday morning, July 23rd – clean 4ft from the south (483). The last real bright spot is Friday morning, July 24th. The swell is only 3ft, but get this – it's a 15-second period groundswell from the south (358) with a clean offshore wind. That's going to produce some beautiful, long-lined waves despite the size, but a long period swell like this can run a bit straight at a beach break, so look for the banks. It's a quiet, high-quality morning.
After that, into the second week, the energy fades, with the swell dropping below 3ft for the weekend and into Monday. The conditions stay clean for the most part, but there's just not enough power or size to get excited about. It'll be a real flat spell.
So to wrap it up: the two clear standouts are Saturday the 11th and Saturday the 19th for clean, fun waves. The mornings of the 22nd, 23rd and especially the 24th offer a more quality, glassy experience for those who appreciate a good period.
Stay stoked,
Rusty
