Table - best surf conditions forecast for Forster Beach over the next 16 days.
G’day, Rusty here. Let’s break down what Forster Beach is offering over the next couple of weeks. It’s a slow start. The first half of the forecast is mostly plagued by onshore winds and short-period slop, with a few moments where it cleans up. Nothing to rush out for early on.
Water temp is around 20° — about normal for the season, so your usual wetsuit will do.
Forster Beach is a beginner-friendly break, open to swell, but we’re looking at a lot of lumpy, short-interval energy. The best window is further out.
Monday 13 July morning – First surfable window, but it’s average. You’ve got 1.4m from the SW with a 6-second period and a light cross-off breeze. Wave energy is moderate at 219. Clean enough to paddle, but don’t expect any gems.
Things get small and clean Tuesday and Wednesday mornings (0.2m to 0.6m) with energy near zero. Wednesday afternoon brings a big jump: 2.5m from the S, 11-second period, energy of 1432 (strong). But with cross-off winds at 25 km/h, it’s messy. Might be more appealing for kite gear than a surfboard.
From Thursday 16 July through the weekend, the swell sits between 2 and 2.1m from the SE, short periods (7 to 9 seconds) and cross-shore or cross-onshore breezes. Rain showers too. Wave energy is moderate to strong (377 to 802), but the quality is poor. Friday is particularly choppy.
The standout is Monday 20 July morning. Glassy conditions with a light north-westerly wind. Swell at 1.7m from the E, 10-second period, energy 643 (moderate to strong). That’s the one you want. Clean, solid, and your best shot at some proper waves. Crowds can be an issue, but go early.
Tuesday 21 July morning is your backup—clean offshore (WNW, 5 km/h) with 1.3m from the E, 9-second period, energy 365. Still decent.
Second week fades into small stuff. Wednesday 22 July has a glassy 1.0m morning (energy 229). Thursday to Sunday stays below 1.1m with light winds, but nothing special. The 25th and 26th are tiny and onshore.
So to wrap it up: Monday 20 July morning is the clear pick—glassy, 1.7m easterly swell with good period. Tuesday 21 July morning is the next best. The rest of the 16 days is either too small, too onshore, or too short-period to bother with.
