Alright, let’s take a look at what Bulli Beach has got cookin’ for us.
Well, it’s a bit of a slow start, to be honest. For the first few days, the ocean’s just not cooperating. Tuesday the 7th gives us nothing, and Wednesday the 8th through Thursday the 9th are looking pretty ordinary with messy, cross-onshore winds and inconsistent, gutless swell. You’ll be fighting a chop for barely anything rideable.
But then, things start to turn. Friday the 10th morning is a real little window of hope. The wind drops to glassy, dead calm, and we’ve got a clean 5ft SE swell. The combined energy is only moderate at 423, but for a Friday morning with no wind, it’s going to look way better than the numbers suggest. That’s your first real chance for a session.
Saturday the 11th keeps the good vibes rolling with light offshore NW winds in the morning, cleaning up a small 4ft SE swell (298 energy). It’s not big, but clean and fun. Saturday afternoon stays tidy with a gentle offshore and a 2ft ESE groundswell coming in at a nice 11-second period. The water temp is sitting at 65°, which is pretty normal for this time of year.
Now, after that, there’s a big dead spell. From Sunday the 12th all the way through to Friday the 17th of July, it’s flat or just ankle-slop. A proper gap with nothing worth paddling out for.
The real standout, the one to circle on your calendar, is Saturday the 18th. The morning brings a clean 4ft SE groundswell (338 energy) with light offshore W winds. The swell direction matches up with what the bank likes (NE optimum), and it’s a clean setup. That’s your pick of the fortnight for a solid session.
Sunday the 19th keeps the goods coming with similar 4ft SE swell but with a longer 12-second period, pushed by a moderate offshore WNW breeze. The energy bumps up to 414. That’s another top-quality morning. Monday the 20th stays offshore but the wind gets fresh, hitting 19 mph, making it a bit blustery for the small 3ft swell.
The final days drop off again. Tuesday the 21st and Wednesday the 22nd are blown out by nasty strong WNW winds, with a jump in swell on Wednesday to 6ft SE (995 energy), but with that fresh cross-off wind, it’ll be messy and uninviting. Honestly, that one’s more for the kites than paddlers.
So, for the best of it, lock in Saturday morning the 18th for clean, fun waves. Sunday the 19th runs a close second.
