Table - best surf conditions forecast for Austinmer Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright, grab your board and let's have a look at what's coming up for Austinmer Beach over the next couple of weeks.
Right off the bat, we're looking at a pretty flat start. Sunday the 12th has some tiny 2-foot ESE swell, but it's ordinary and honestly not worth paddling out for. This quiet spell runs right through until Tuesday the 14th, with barely a ripple. Then things get a bit wild.
Wednesday the 15th morning is a no-go for most of us. A solid 8-foot south swell rolls in, but that's just too much meat for a beginner-friendly beach like this. The wave energy is pumping hard at 1561, so it's expert-only territory, and even then, with a cross-shore wind, it's going to be messy. After that, the week is a write-off with poor conditions and choppy, cross-onshore winds through to the weekend.
Now, here's the standout. We've got a good run starting Monday the 20th. Monday afternoon sees a clean 6-foot east-northeast swell with a nice 11-second period and light offshore winds. That's a solid combo. The water temp is sitting around 65°, which is about normal for this time of year, so no surprises there.
But the real gem is Tuesday the 21st. The morning is clean with a 6-foot east swell, and then Tuesday afternoon turns glassy. Winds go to nothing, and you’ve got a clean 6-foot east swell breaking. That’s the pick of the forecast – pure glass, smooth faces, and a good long-period groundswell that’ll give you some proper push. This is the time to be out there, though with the swell at 6 feet it's more suited to intermediates and above.
The following Wednesday the 22nd is also a top call for experienced surfers – a 5-foot east swell with a very long 13-second period and clean offshore wind. The wave energy is strong at 1355, and those long-period waves will wrap in nicely for a more experienced crew. After that, the week stays fun with a few more clean days, but the real magic is that glassy Tuesday afternoon.
Rusty.
