Table - best surf conditions forecast for The Harbour over the next 16 days.
Alright, surfers, Rusty here. Let's have a look at the charts for The Harbour. Gotta be straight with you – this is a bleak outlook for the next 16 days. There’s not a single standout session on the cards, so we’re in for a long, flat run. The Harbour is a beach/groyne setup exposed to the south-east, and we’re just not getting the right push. The water is sitting at 54°, which is about average for this time of year.
The whole forecast window is a write-off for decent waves. We’re looking at a massive gap right from the start with no surf worth mentioning. Tuesday the 7th through to the end of the window on Wednesday the 22nd of July shows nothing but tiny scraps and flat spells. The few tiny pulses we get, like a 1ft south-southwest swell on Tuesday morning (5 seconds period, weak energy of just 5), or a 2ft north-northeast swell on Saturday the 11th (moderate energy of 12), are accompanied by poor wind conditions like cross-on breezes. The wave comment says it all every time: “poor surf conditions” with a score of zero. There’s just no quality here for paddle surfing.
On the plus side, there are a few moments of clean conditions, like Wednesday the 15th with a light offshore breeze, but the swell is virtually non-existent (less than 1ft). Even a glassy morning on Sunday the 19th has zero swell. This is a period where the setup is more interesting for a kite surfer on a windy afternoon than for anyone with a paddle board. It’s a blank run, but fairs fair, forecasts can always change.
Stay patient.
Rusty.
