Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s be straight with you – this outlook for your local break is a flat, quiet stretch that’s going to test your patience. The Harbour is seeing a big lull, so if you’re looking for proper surf, you’re going to be waiting a while.

Starting from Friday July 10th and through that weekend, it’s dead. Zero swell energy, and the only bumps we see on Saturday and Sunday are weak 2 to 2ft windswell with a period of 4 to 7 seconds, and the wind is blowing onshore or cross-onshore. Not worth paddling out. The combined energy maxes out at a measly 47, so it’s just wind chop.

We get a slight improvement around Tuesday July 14th morning – glassy conditions, a light ESE breeze at 3 mph, and a tiny 2ft NE swell with a 6-second period. Combined energy is only 20, so it’s small and weak. Fun for a log or a foil, but that’s about it.

Come Saturday July 18th, the wind picks up strong from the NNW at 22 to 25 mph, with a bit more size – 3 to 4ft but with a short 4 to 5 second period. The combined energy climbs to 60, but the wind is messy and cross-onshore. That’s more kite-surfing weather than clean surf.

From July 20th we get some cleaner cross-offshore winds, but the swell is tiny or gone entirely until around July 24th. On Friday the 24th morning, we see a 3ft SSE swell with a 5-second period, a clean offshore wind from the SSW at 16 mph, and combined energy at 37. That’s the best we’ve got in the whole forecast, but that short period means closeout city – not a standout, just a slim chance for a few rides.

Water temp was 55°F on the 10th, right around average for this time of year.

So, the short of it: if you’re desperate, Tuesday the 14th morning has the cleanest conditions, and Friday the 24th morning has the most size. Neither one is a barn-burner – this is a proper flat spell. Stick with it, conditions can always change.
