Table - best surf conditions forecast for The Harbour over the next 16 days.
Alright, let’s talk about The Harbour. Honestly, the outlook over the next 16 days is pretty flat. There’s a big gap of about a week and a half where there’s nothing worth waxing up for.
It’s a beach and groyne spot, exposed to the swell, and the waves are tiny for a long run. Sunday the 12th starts with a weak 2ft ENE swell, period a short 6 seconds, and a light onshore breeze that’s killing it. The combined energy is only 17 – that’s weak as dishwater. That pattern sticks: Monday the 13th gives us a 3ft NE swell at 7 seconds, still onshore, energy at 54, but still no good. Tuesday and Wednesday stay small, under 2ft. The first week is a total washout.
Water temp on the 12th is 57°F, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year. Nothing major, just a note.
The only half-decent window comes Thursday the 23rd – that’s 11 days out, so keep it on the radar. The morning has a 4ft north swell with a short 5-second period, but the wind is offshore from the southwest. Energy is still moderate at 81. It’s called surfable but very ordinary, and I’d agree. That afternoon improves a little: the swell goes to 5ft from the north, period still 6 seconds, wind light offshore from the south-southwest, and energy hits a moderate 168. That’s the best of the whole period. It’s not a standout, but if you need a session, that Thursday afternoon is your shot. The 5ft is okay for intermediates, not too big.
After that, Friday the 24th drops back to nothing – 0.7ft and onshore again.
So, bottom line: sit tight for the first week and a half. Thursday the 23rd offers a couple of clean, offshore windows, but the swell is short-period and ordinary. For beginners, the 5ft might be a bit much, but intermediates could manage. This is a long-range call, so it’s promising but less certain. For the rest… maybe it’s time to fix the fins on your board.
