Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at The Harbour for the next couple of weeks.
Right off the bat, I gotta be straight with you: it’s a flat spell for a long while. We’re looking at nothing but tiny, weak, poor surf from today, Tuesday the 7th of July, all the way through Friday the 17th. That’s over a week of waiting. Most mornings will give you a glimpse of something, maybe 0.7ft to 1ft, but it’s drizzly, choppy, or cross-off junk with a combined swell energy barely registering (8 at best). Thursday the 16th offers clean-ish, cross-off wind, but the swell is still a pathetic 2ft to 3ft. Honestly, it’s not worth paddling out for.
Now, there is one moment that looks promising. After that gap, we finally see some life. Saturday the 18th of July is your standout. The morning brings 4ft of NE swell with a 8-second period and a solid combined energy of 216. By the afternoon, it builds to 5ft from the NE with a 9-second period and a combined energy of 343. The wind is light and cross-off from the SSE, meaning clean faces. The Harbour is a beach and groyne setup, exposed to the swell, and it’s fairly consistent for an intermediate level. This one is worth the wait. The water temperature isn’t flagged, so it’s about average for July.
Sunday the 19th drops right back off, and the following Monday and Tuesday are a washout with onshore wind and no real energy. The 10-day outlook for Wednesday the 22nd looks glassy but flat again. So, if you want a wave, your window is Saturday the 18th. For the rest of the period, it’s a waiting game.
