Table - best surf conditions forecast for The Harbour over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s take a look at what the next couple of weeks are doing for us.
Honestly, it’s a pretty flat and quiet stretch ahead for The Harbour. We’ve got a long dry spell to start with. From now, Monday the 13th, right through until Sunday morning the 19th, there’s nothing worth paddling out for. The swell is tiny, the wind is mostly onshore or cross-onshore, and the scores are all zeros. It’s a real lull.
The first sign of life shows up on Sunday afternoon, the 19th. We see a pulse of new swell coming in from the northeast at 5ft, with a period of 9 seconds. The combined energy jumps up to a moderate 275, and the wind goes glassy out of the southeast. That’s the standout window – clean, glassy conditions with a clean, long-period swell. It’s an intermediate-level wave, not for beginners, but for the crew who can handle a bit of power, it should be a fun session. Expect a bit of crowd at The Harbour (beach/groyne) though – it can get busy when it’s clean.
After that, it drops right back off. Monday the 20th and Tuesday the 21st are tiny and mostly clean but not worth the wetsuit. Then we get a few days of messy, small, or flat conditions right through to the 24th.
Friday the 24th shows a little spike in the afternoon with 5ft swell from the southeast, but the period is short at 7 seconds and the wind is cross-onshore – messy and ordinary.
Saturday the 25th morning is the next best shot, with a clean, cross-off wind and 4ft southeast swell, period 7 seconds. It’s surfable, but the conditions are just average, not a standout.
After that, we trail off into tiny, clean leftovers with no real energy.
So, the one clear winner in this 16-day window is Sunday afternoon, the 19th, at The Harbour. Glassy, clean, and a decent pulse of swell. That’s the session to circle on the calendar. The rest is mostly a waiting game.
Rusty.
