Table - best surf conditions forecast for Scarborough South Bay over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s be straight with you – it’s a tough start. The next week and a half looks pretty flat and messy for Scarborough South Bay. We’re looking at a long stretch of weak, small, and choppy conditions from Saturday the 11th right through to Monday the 21st of July. The swell is tiny, the wind is mostly cross-onshore, and the wave energy is low, barely scraping into the moderate range on a couple of afternoons. It’s going to be a real test of patience.
Now, hang in there, because things finally get interesting. The standout window is Wednesday the 22nd of July. Tuesday the 21st sees a pulse of swell building, but it’s still messy with a cross-onshore wind. Then, on Wednesday morning, the stars align. We’ve got a solid 8ft swell pushing in from the north-northeast, with a period of 8 seconds. The combined energy jumps to 831 – that’s strong, powerful stuff. The real kicker? A light cross-offshore wind from the south-southwest, keeping the surface clean. This is the one to circle on the calendar. It’s a big, powerful swell, so it’s definitely for experienced surfers only – beginners will want to sit this one out. The water temp is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, sitting around 60°.
After that Wednesday morning, the swell drops off through the rest of the week. The wind stays clean on Thursday and Friday, but the size fades fast. By Saturday the 25th, we’re back to tiny glassy conditions, but there’s hardly any energy left. The long-range stuff after that is too small and inconsistent to get excited about.
So, the bottom line: the first ten days are a write-off. Save your energy for Wednesday the 22nd of July. That’s your best shot.
