Surf Forecasts:
The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's be straight with you: the outlook for the next 16 days is a flat spell.
We've got a full run of zeros across the board for Port Stanley (Falkland Islands). The 'combined energy of all swells directed here' is reading 0 for the entire forecast period. That means there’s no swell to speak of. From Saturday the 15th of August right through to Sunday the 30th of August, every single session is flagged as "poor surf conditions." We're talking about a solid two-week gap with absolutely nothing to recommend.
The water temp is sitting at 74°F which is pretty normal for this time of year, so that’s not the issue. The problem is a total lack of any wave energy. Even on the days where the wind goes glassy (like Wednesday the 19th afternoon and Wednesday the 26th afternoon), there’s no swell to clean up.
This is a tough one for the Falklands. It doesn't often stay this dead for this long, but when it does, the only thing to do is wait for the next system. Forecasts can and do change, but right now, there’s nothing to paddle out for.
Keep the wax dry, lads.
Rusty.
