Table - best surf conditions forecast for Papaya (Nahriya) over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here again. Let’s break it down for Papaya (Nahriya) — it’s a real bummer of a forecast for the next two weeks.
The first eight days, from Saturday July 11th through Saturday July 18th, are a total washout. Swell is tiny, barely 2 ft to 2 ft, coming from the west to west-northwest. The combined energy numbers are all in the weak range, from 11 to 73, so there’s no power. The wind is cross-onshore or onshore, creating a chop that’s no fun for anyone. Water temp is 82°F, a touch warmer than normal, but that’s the only good news. Even the mornings with light winds are too small to bother with. Save your wax.
From Sunday July 19th to Friday July 24th, it’s more of the same: swells between 1.0 ft and 3 ft, all marked as poor surf conditions. Wind stays cross-onshore or onshore, and the energy is still weak (13 to 63). No standout sessions here.
Finally, a glimmer of hope on the last weekend. Saturday July 25th morning shows a bump to 3 ft from the west, 7-second period, light cross-onshore, and energy at 97. It’s still weak, but it’s the best we’ve seen. The afternoon gets to 4 ft, west swell, with energy jumping to 176 (moderate) but onshore wind. Sunday July 26th morning holds 4 ft, 8-second period, light cross-onshore, and energy at 164. It’s still not clean, but it’s the biggest and most consistent window.
If you have to pick, Saturday July 25th morning is the standout. It’s small, it’s a little bumpy, but it’s the only time you’ll see any real waves. The rest of the forecast is a blank run, which is pretty normal here when the wind sets up wrong.
Rusty.
