Table - best surf conditions forecast for Hakshtot (Ashdod) over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s be real about what’s on offer for the next couple of weeks. We’re looking at a pretty flat and quiet stretch ahead, so don’t get your hopes up for anything epic.
Right now, and for most of the next 16 days, the surf is tiny. We’re talking about weak, short-period windswell that’s barely breaking. The combined energy is weak, sitting in the low double digits and only occasionally reaching into the moderate range, but even then it’s just a touch. The water is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, coming in at 82°F.
The first real chance of catching something surfable, and I mean barely surfable, is on the morning of Wednesday, 15 July at Hakshtot (Ashdod). The swell is a scant 2ft from the WNW with a period of 8 seconds. The energy is still weak at 61. The wind will be glassy, which is the only thing making it even worth a look. It’s a beginner-friendly spot, so it could be a fun little session for a learner, but don't expect much. The crowd factor is "often" there, so expect some company.
It’s a similar story the next morning, Thursday, 16 July. Glassy conditions again, with a 3ft, 8-second WNW swell. The energy is a bit better at 74, but still just ordinary.
After that, we hit a real dead zone. From the afternoon of the 16th all the way through the end of the period on 26 July, the forecast is a long string of poor surf conditions. The swell stays tiny, the wind is mostly onshore or cross-onshore, and the energy is weak. There’s nothing to recommend. It’s a long, quiet stretch.
To be honest, the best option in the whole window is that Wednesday morning glass-off. It’s the only time the stars align even a little bit. The wind is perfect, the swell is small but clean. It’s not a standout for power or size, but it’s your best bet for a paddle.
So, grab your log if you’re a beginner, or just take a break. It’s a desert out there.
Rusty.
