The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s look at what’s shaping up for Dosim Beach over the next couple of weeks.
Honestly, I’ll be straight with you—this outlook is a tough one. The whole 16-day window is pretty much a write-off for decent waves. We’ve got a long stretch of tiny, weak swell and poor conditions, with only a few fleeting moments of glassy water that still won’t deliver any real ride.
It kicks off Sunday, 30 August with a pulse of 5 ft swell from the WNW, but the period is a short 8 seconds and the wind is blowing 12 mph onshore. That’s poor surf, and the energy is weak (322). It doesn’t get any better that afternoon or into Monday. The swell fades fast, dropping to 3 ft by Monday morning, still with a short period and cross-onshore wind.
The best you’ll see in the whole run is on Tuesday morning, 1 September. The swell is only 3 ft from the WNW, but the wind goes glassy—a light north breeze of 3 mph. That’ll clean things up nicely, but the wave energy is tiny (62) and the consistency is rated as “inconsistent.” You might get a few fun little ankle-biters, but it’s very ordinary.
After that, it’s a long grind of tiny, weak swell from the WNW, with poor surf conditions and choppy winds for the rest of the first week and into the second. A few mornings on 3 September, 7 September and 14 September show glassy conditions, but the swell energy is so low (between 15 and 45) that it’s barely worth paddling out for. The water temperature is about average for this time of year, so no surprises there.
There’s one more standout worth mentioning: Monday morning, 14 September. Glassy conditions again, with a 2 ft swell from the WNW and a period of 7 seconds. The energy is still low (40), but it’s the cleanest surf you’ll get in the second week. Don’t expect much.
Overall, Dosim Beach is a beginner-friendly spot, but it’s exposed to a narrow swell window and it’s inconsistent. This stretch looks better for a beach walk than a surf session. Keep an eye on the forecasts—things can change.
