The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what Dosim Beach has got cooking for us over the next couple of weeks. I gotta be straight with you from the get-go; this stretch isn’t shaping up to be a classic run.
The overall pattern is one of persistent, weak swell. We’ve got a consistent flow of small windswell coming from the WNW direction, but the energy is just not there. The combined energy of all swells directed here is mostly in the feeble double-digit range, barely cracking triple digits on a few days. The water temp is sitting at 82°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, so at least you won’t be needing a thick suit.
Right out of the gate, from Wednesday the 15th right through the end of the week, it’s a total write-off. We’re talking tiny 2ft to 3ft mush, with onshore or cross-onshore winds messing up what little shape there is. It’s not worth paddling out for.
We hit a real gap with no decent recommendations for a solid week. The first real glimmer of something *possible* doesn't show up until Saturday the 25th. That morning we see the swell bump up to 4ft from the WNW with a period of 8 seconds, and the combined energy climbs to 223 – that’s moderate energy. The wind is a gentle cross-shore from the SW, which leaves it with a bit of a cross-chop. It’s still rated as marginal, and for a beginner beach break like this, 4ft is getting up there. The afternoon gets blown out by onshore winds again.
If you’re really jonesing, that Saturday morning (25th) is the only window that even sniffs at being surfable. But honestly, with the combination of an inconsistent break and almost all sessions being blown out or just too gutless, the setup here looks a whole lot more interesting for a kite surfer than a paddle surfer. For the rest of the run into the end of the month, it’s back to tiny, choppy slop.
So, the takeaway: keep your expectations low. There’s a very long blank stretch, and the only standout candidate is that morning on the 25th, and even that’s a long shot for a clean wave. Forecasts can change, but as it stands, leave the board in the car.
Stay frothy,
Rusty
