Table - best surf conditions forecast for Dosim Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright, this is Rusty. Let's get into it.
Well, I've gotta be straight with you – the next 16 days are looking pretty grim for Dosim Beach. Honestly, there isn't a single session in the entire window that I'd recommend paddling out for. The whole run is filled with "poor surf conditions," with barely any energy to work with. We're looking at a long stretch of tiny, weak waves.
The water temp is sitting at 83°F, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, but that's about the only highlight.
Let's run through it. It all starts off flat and messy. Wednesday the 8th and Thursday the 9th have chest-high swell around 3 ft to 4 ft, but it's weak with combined energy readings of just 120 to 131 (moderate on the weak side). The wind is a cross to cross-onshore breeze at 12 to 16 mph, keeping things choppy and blown out. The swell period is short, only 7 to 8 seconds, so it's just weak, bumpy windswell.
By Friday the 10th, the swell drops to knee-high at 2 ft and the energy falls off a cliff to only 41. You get a brief window of offshore wind on the Friday afternoon, but with a 6-second period and hardly any size, it won't be breaking with any shape.
From Saturday the 11th all the way through to Monday the 21st of July, it's a solid 10-day stretch where the swell barely gets over 2 ft to 2 ft. You'll see combined energy readings stuck in the teens and single digits (weak). It's just a complete flat spell. The afternoon winds mostly switch to a clean offshore direction from the WNW, but with no swell to work with, that doesn't matter one bit.
There is a tiny spike on Sunday the 19th of July, where the morning shows a 4 ft swell from the WNW with a period of 8 seconds and the energy jumps up to 149 (moderate). But even then, the forecast says "poor surf conditions" and it's paired with a cross-shore wind. It's not enough to get excited about.
For the final few days, the 21st to the 23rd, it peters out completely into ankle-snappers with energy values below 20. There's just nothing here for a surfer.
Dosim Beach is an exposed beach break, but when the swell is this tiny and the wind is mostly on it, this setup looks far more interesting for a kite surfer than anyone on a paddle board. I'm sorry to say it, but the blank run is pretty normal for this area when conditions line up this poorly.
Keep checking back, because forecasts can change, but right now, leave the board in the car.
Rusty.
