The Lowdown
Hey, Rusty here. I've looked over the next 16 days for Dosim Beach, and honestly, there's nothing worth paddling out for. The whole stretch from July 18 through August 2 is a flat, poor run – no surf worth chasing. This spot is a beginner-friendly break, but it's inconsistent and always crowded, so a blank spell like this is pretty normal around here. The water's sitting at 82°, about 2° warmer than usual for this time of year, which is nice for a swim but doesn't help the waves.
The swell is tiny throughout, mostly from the WNW – not the optimum WSW direction that would really light it up. Winds are often onshore or cross-shore, keeping things chopped up. The only glimmer is a few mornings with light wind, like July 20 Monday morning where it went glassy, but the swell was only 1 ft – barely a ripple. Even the slight bump on July 25 Saturday morning, with 4 ft and a cross-shore breeze, only managed a combined energy of 174 (moderate) but still poor surf conditions. Later, on July 27 Monday afternoon, a longer-period swell (10-11 seconds) pushed energy to 145, but with cross-onshore wind it was messy. Nothing builds into anything rideable. So if you're itching for waves, don't hold your breath – forecasts can shift, but right now it's a hard pass.
