Dosim Beach Surf Forecast and Surf Report

G’day, it’s Rusty, and let’s be honest, this is a rough stretch at Dosim Beach. The swell is going to be weak, the periods are short, and we’re just not seeing any proper surf on the board for the next couple of weeks. The water’s cooking at 30°, a good 2° above normal, so it’s proper tropical bathwater, but that’s about the only thing that’s warm.

From Sunday afternoon through Tuesday morning, the waves are just tiny – 0.4m to 0.6m out of the WNW and NW, with a short, weak 5 or 6 second period. The combined swell energy is embarrassingly low, sitting at 11, 12, and 30. There’s a glassy window Monday morning, but the swell is so weak it won’t push you anywhere. The wave direction is off the ideal WSW, so nothing lines up.

Wednesday and Thursday mornings get a slight lift to around 0.7m and 0.8m, with the period stretching to 7 seconds and the energy climbing into the 40s and 50s. You’ll see clean, glassy conditions early, but the waves are still just ordinary and soft. Don’t expect any drive. The afternoons are useless with onshore wind and chop.

Friday and Saturday drop right back off – 0.5m and 0.6m with periods down to 4-5 seconds and weak energy in the teens. That’s just windswell slop, not real swell. There’s a glimpse of hope Saturday morning with a light breeze, but it’s not enough.

Into the second week, the best we see is Sunday the 27th, with the swell getting to 0.9m from the WNW and the energy touching 77. But the wind is onshore, and the direction is still not ideal. It’s marginal at best. Monday the 28th is similar – 0.8m but soft and weak.

So look, there is no standout period here. It’s just a long, flat, weak run. If you’re desperate for a paddle, maybe the glassy Wednesday or Thursday morning will give you a few soft ones, but that’s about it. For the most part, it’s better to sit this one out. The surf just isn’t there, so don’t waste your time chasing it. This kind of blank run happens.
