The Lowdown
Alright, I'm looking at the next 16 days here for Dosim Beach, and honestly, it’s a tough stretch. This spot is exposed to the swell, and it wants it from the WSW, but what we’re seeing for most of the forecast is just weak, short-period windswell from the Northwest. The combined energy is barely ticking over – we’re seeing values like 20 to 89, which is just weak energy. It’s not going to produce much worth paddling out for.
From now through to the 9th of August, it’s a write-off. We’ve got tiny waves, mostly in the 1 ft to 3 ft range, and the wind is constantly cross-on or onshore, just tearing it up. It’s going to be choppy and messy. Not worth your time.
Then we hit Monday the 10th of August. That morning is the only real highlight in this entire outlook. The swell is still small, around 3 ft out of the WNW, with a short period of 7 seconds. Nothing special on paper, but the wind goes glassy, calm as. The combined energy is still weak, only 53, but with those glassy conditions, it’ll be clean and workable for a beginner-friendly wave. This is the one to aim for. After that, it’s back to the same old story – onshore winds and tiny, poor surf right through to the end of the forecast window.
Look, if you’re just starting out and you’re desperate, that Monday the 10th morning is your shot. For anyone else, this is a long, flat run. The break is inconsistent at the best of times, so a blank stretch like this isn't unusual for the area. Keep an eye on the forecasts, though – it tends not to stay this poor forever.
