The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here. Let's check out what Dosim Beach has in store.
Honestly, it's a quiet spell. Over the next 16 days, there's nothing that'll get your blood pumping. The first week is a total dud, a long gap of about a week with nothing worthwhile. A few mornings might get you in the water for a splash, but it's all marginal. The one morning that stands out is still just the best of a bad lot.
The water is 87° – that's about 5° warmer than usual, so it's like a hot tub. Nice for a soak, but the waves are asleep.
Starting Friday the 11th through the weekend, it's tiny. Swell is 1ft to 2ft from the WNW with a short 5-6 second period. The energy is in the gutter, between 8 and 17. Winds are onshore or cross-onshore, so it's choppy and messy. Forget it.
Monday the 14th and Tuesday the 15th are still tiny – 1ft to 2ft – but we get some glassy mornings. The swell is too small and weak to really ride, but if you want to sit on a longboard in dead flat conditions, those calm mornings are your window. Just don't expect to catch anything.
Now, Wednesday the 16th morning is your best bet. The swell climbs to 3ft from the WNW with a 7-second period. The combined energy is 86 – still weak, but it's the biggest we'll see. The wind is light and onshore, so it's a little bumpy. For a spot that's inconsistent like Dosim, this is the morning to have a crack. It's still just marginal, but it's the only real window in the whole two weeks.
Thursday the 17th is similar—3ft—but with light cross-onshore winds that chop it up. After that, it's back to the dungeons. Lots of glassy mornings from Friday the 18th onward, especially Monday the 21st with dead calm wind, but the swell is just 2ft to 2ft with a short period. The energy is low, in the teens or twenties. The last few days see a bump on the 23rd and 26th, but the wind gets nasty, with Friday the 26th afternoon howling at 22 mph cross-onshore, making it lumpy and ugly.
The only real call: If you are absolutely itching, aim for Wednesday morning, September 16th. Expect weak 3ft swell, a short period, and onshore wind. It's strictly a beginner's day, and even then, it's about as low as it gets. For everyone else, keep the board in the car.
Rusty, signing off.
