The Lowdown
Alright mates, Rusty here again. Gotta be honest – the next 16 days at Dosim Beach are flat and grim. There’s no decent surf to speak of across the whole window, so don’t get your hopes up.
From the get-go on Wednesday 2nd September, it’s tiny 1ft from the WNW with a short 6-second period, and the combined energy is just a weak 16. The morning is glassy, which is nice, but there’s no swell to ride. Water’s 86°, a touch warmer than average for this time of year. Afternoon turns onshore and choppy – no good.
Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th are the same story – 1ft to 2ft of slop, cross-on or onshore winds, energy barely crawling. Saturday and Sunday don’t improve. Sunday morning the 6th gives us 3ft from the WNW with energy up to 62, but it’s cross-onshore with ripples – still messy and weak.
The whole first week and into the second week is a surf desert. Monday 7th through to Thursday 17th September – day after day of 1ft to 3ft WNW swell, short 5 to 8-second periods, and energy mostly under 40. The only half-decent moment is Wednesday morning the 9th: 3ft at 8 seconds with glassy conditions and energy at 76. That’s the high point, and it’s still just barely rideable. Not a single standout session.
The break faces the WSW, but the swell comes from WNW or NW – not a great match. It’s inconsistent, rarely breaks well, and crowds are always an issue. Good news is nobody will be out for this. For a kiter, the afternoon breezes might offer something, but for surfers? Save your energy. Forecasts can always flip, but right now this is a proper dry spell.
Rusty.
