Dosim Beach Surf Forecast and Surf Report

Hey guys, Rusty here. Look, I’m not gonna sugarcoat it – this forecast is a bummer. We’re looking at the next 16 days, but the first week is a total dud. You’ll be waiting a long time before seeing anything worth paddling out for. For Dosim Beach, an exposed beach break, this is a real test of your patience.

To start, the water temp is about 85°, which is a bit warmer than usual. Feels like a warm bath, but that’s the only thing going for us. The wind is messy, mostly cross-onshore and choppy, and the swell is tiny – just 1ft to 3ft from the WNW with a short, weak period of 6 seconds. The wave energy is low. The first week is a complete washout for surfing. You get a glassy moment on the morning of Wednesday the 12th, but with only 2ft of weak, short-period swell, it’s still flat. From Sunday the 9th through the weekend, there’s nothing. It’s a long, dry gap.

Things get slightly more interesting on Monday the 17th. The swell bumps up to 2ft to 3ft, still from the WNW, and the period stretches to 7 seconds. The energy finally climbs into a moderate range. This is the only real standout, but it’s not without problems. The wind is onshore or cross-onshore for most of it, making it choppy. For a beach break, that short period means weak, crumbly waves. It’s not great. The swell is too small for experts, and with the onshore wind, it’s only for beginners who just want to get wet, though it won't be easy.

The last few days, from the 21st to the 24th, the swell fades right back to nothing. There are a couple of glassy mornings, but with only 1ft to 2ft of weak 6-second swell, you’re just floating around. For this area, a long stretch of nothing is pretty normal. It’s a tough go, so check the charts later, but for now, leave the board at home.
