The Lowdown
Grab your board, but maybe leave it in the car for a while. We're in for a long, flat spell here at Dosim Beach. This exposed beach break is looking pretty sad for the next couple of weeks. The water's sitting at 86°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year—good for a swim, not so much for surfing.
The first real glimpse of anything rideable doesn't show up until Sunday the 30th of August. Even then, it's a total knee-slapper. We're looking at a tiny 2 ft swell out of the WNW, but the period is only 8 seconds, so it's all short-period wind chop. The combined energy is a weak 48 (weak wave energy). The only thing saving it is a glassy morning with NNW winds going calm. It’s surfable, but the forecast even calls it "very ordinary conditions." Not a standout by any stretch.
After that, it's back to tiny dribble until we hit the morning of Saturday the 6th of September. That morning shows a modest bump to 4 ft from the WNW, with an 8-second period and a combined energy of 202 (moderate wave energy). Winds are light out of the SW, giving us a light cross-shore. It's still considered "marginal" and only scores a 1 out of 10, but relative to everything else, this is the best on offer. The size is manageable for beginners, but the short period means it won't have much push.
Honestly, this is a tough outlook. Dosim is inconsistent at the best of times, and this 16-day window is a prime example. The second week is a write-off with nothing but tiny, weak swell and onshore winds. It’s a blank run that’s pretty normal for this stretch of coast. Forecasts can change, so don't lose all hope, but for now, I’d be looking at other activities.
