Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's cookin' for the next couple of weeks.
Honestly, I gotta be straight with you – it's a pretty bleak run for Hof gil (Ashdod), or Hof Hadromi. The whole 16-day window is lookin' grim. We've got a long stretch of flat, choppy, and poor conditions ahead. The water is sitting at 82°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, but that's about the only bonus.
The swell energy is mostly weak, with values from 13 to 149 (moderate wave energy), but it's all short-period, choppy, wind-affected stuff. The swell direction is WNW, but the wind is almost always cross-on or onshore, messing up what little wave there is. The combined energy is just not enough to get excited about.
For Sunday, July 5th, it's a write-off. We're looking at a 3ft swell from the WNW with a short period of 7 seconds, and a cross-on 9 mph wind. The water is already choppy. The energy is 88 (weak wave energy) – just grim.
Monday, July 6th, is more of the same. 3ft of weak, short-period swell and cross-on winds. We're just watching the time go by.
The best we can say is that on Friday, July 10th, the morning turns glassy with a 3 mph wind from the SW. That's the only time the water will be clean, but the swell is tiny – 2ft from the WNW with a 7-second period and a combined energy of only 38 (weak wave energy). It's not going to be ridable, but it'll be flat and pretty.
The rest of the run is a bust. By Saturday, July 11th, the swell drops to 1ft. We get a few glassy mornings here and there – like Sunday, July 19th, has a morning with 2ft and a 0 mph wind. But again, the energy is pitiful (37) and the swell is too small to do anything.
There are no standouts here. No big swell, no good wind, no decent break. This is a classic case of a blank run for this area. It's a sandbar setup, and with the onshore winds and weak swell, it's just not worth paddling out. The conditions are better suited for a towel and a cold drink than a surfboard.
Hang in there, folks. Forecasts can change.
Rusty.
