The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here. Let's look at what's cookin' for the next couple of weeks.
Honestly, mate, it’s a pretty flat and frustrating stretch ahead. The whole 16-day window is a right-off for any decent surf. We're looking at a long, poor run with no real standouts to get excited about. The first few days are tiny and weak, and things only get marginally bigger, but never good.
For Hof gil (Ashdod) or Hof Hadromi, it’s a sandbar setup that's fairly consistent, but there's just nothing to work with. The water temp is about average for this time of year.
Starting Saturday morning, September 12th, we've got glassy conditions but only 1 ft of weak, short-period NW windswell, with combined energy of just 8. It's poor. That afternoon the wind swings cross-onshore and chops it up. This same flat, choppy pattern holds through Sunday and Monday, with waves barely reaching 2 ft and combined energy staying below 15.
Tuesday the 15th and Wednesday the 16th see a slight bump, but it's still not happening. On Wednesday morning, we get to 3 ft from the WNW with combined energy hitting 93, but it's cross-on and labeled marginal. Thursday morning, September 17th, is the closest we get to a pulse: 4 ft from the WNW with moderate energy of 168. Still, the wind is cross-on and the quality is only marginal. That afternoon the swell bumps to 4 ft and energy jumps to 245, but it's onshore and messy.
After that, we drop back into flatness. Friday the 18th through to the end of the window on September 27th sees waves mostly under 3 ft and combined energy barely scraping 85. There are a few glassy mornings, like Sunday the 20th and Saturday the 26th, but with the swell being 1 ft to 2 ft, you're not surfing anything.
Bottom line: there is no surf worth paddling out for in this entire outlook. For a spot that is fairly consistent, this is a rare blank run. The forecasts can change, but right now, you're better off doing something else.
