The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's cookin' for the local stretch.
Honestly, the next week and a half is gonna be a real grind. We're looking at a long, dry spell with barely a ripple. The first surf that's even worth paddling out for doesn't show up until Saturday the 25th, and even then, it's a specific call. Before that, from now right through to the end of the week, it's flat and poor. There's a few glassy mornings, but the swell is just too small and weak to do anything with.
Hof gil (Ashdod) or Hof Hadromi is the only game in town, a sandbar setup that's fairly consistent but exposed to the west. The water temp is about average for the time of year.
The real standout, the only window that's got any juice, is Saturday morning, July 25th. The swell finally bumps up to a clean 5ft from the WNW, with a period of 8 seconds. The combined energy hits 254, which is solid moderate energy. And the wind? It's a light cross-shore from the SSW. That's the best we're gonna get. It's a beginner-friendly size, but it won't be the best shape. Still, after all that flatness, it's a session to grab. The rest of that day gets blown out, and Sunday the 26th drops right back down.
We get a few more marginal mornings at the end of the month. Thursday the 30th and Friday the 31st have some glassy starts with tiny 3ft and 2ft swell, but it's weak energy (103 and 46) and barely surfable. Better than nothing for a longboard, but don't expect much.
So, the plan is simple: wait for Saturday the 25th, get the morning session in, and then hope the forecasts change for the better after that.
Rusty.
