The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's be straight with you – the next couple of weeks for the Tel Aviv coast are lookin' pretty flat. The finder didn't even have a single recommendation to work with, so we're gonna keep it real about what's on offer.
The main break we're watchin' is Hof gil (Ashdod) or Hof Hadromi, a sandbar setup that's fairly consistent, but right now, it's just not gettin' any love from the ocean. The swell energy is weak, with the combined energy of all swells directed here barely crackin' three digits, hittin' a max of 128 (moderate) on the 10th of September, but even that's a tease. The swell direction is WNW, which isn't the optimum for this spot anyway – it really wants swell from the W.
We're looking at a serious gap here. The first few days, from the 3rd through the 5th, are a total write-off. Tiny swell of 1ft to 2ft, short period of 5-6 seconds, and cross-onshore winds makin' a mess of it. You'll be paddlin' around in chop for no reward. The 6th of September has a glimmer with a morning session showin' 3ft swell, but it's still marginal.
The best of a bad bunch looks like the 10th of September. The afternoon swell is 4ft from the WNW, with a period of 8 seconds, and the energy climbs to 128 (moderate). But the wind is onshore, which will junk it up. On the 7th and 8th of September, and again on the 18th, we get some glassy mornings, but with swell barely 2ft, it's just not enough to get excited about. The water temp is a touch warmer than normal, sittin' at 85° on the 3rd, which is nice for a swim, not so much for a surf.
Honestly, for a stretch like this, it's pretty normal for the area. The forecasts can change, but right now, there's just no quality on the cards. If you're desperate, the 10th of September offers the most size, but it'll be messy. The 16th of September shows a similar story with 3ft swell and moderate energy (101-103), but again, cross-onshore winds.
Keep your eyes peeled for a change, but for now, I wouldn't bother waxin' up. Rusty out.
