The Lowdown

G'day, I'm Rusty, and I've got a look at what's on the table for the next stretch. Honest truth? It's gonna be a long wait. There's virtually nothing on offer for the first week and a half at Lennards Island. This classic point break setup is a tricky one – it's an advanced, inconsistent spot that really needs the right NE swell angle, and that's just not showing up. We're looking at a solid 10 to 12 days of flat, poor conditions. The water temp is sitting at 61°F with a 1°F anomaly, so about average for this time of year.

The first real flicker of hope comes on Friday, the 14th of August. On Friday morning, the ocean finally wakes up. We get a 5 ft NE swell with a 9-second period, and the combined energy jumps to 434 (moderate wave energy). The wind is light from the west, a cross-offshore breeze, and the report says "clean." It's the first real standout in the whole window. The break is a point, so it should handle this swell direction okay. If you're an advanced surfer, this is your window. The Friday afternoon backs off a bit to 5 ft from the NE but with a 10-second period and a cross-shore wind, making it marginal.

After that peak, it drops off quickly. The Saturday morning (15th) is glassy but tiny at 2 ft, and the following days are just small, ordinary conditions. The 16th and 17th of August offer glassy mornings but with waves around 2 ft – surfable but nothing to write home about.

So, bottom line: if you're chomping at the bit, the Friday morning of the 14th of August is your one clear shot at something decent. Everything else is a waiting game. The surf tends to be inconsistent here, so a blank run like this isn't totally out of the blue, but it's a tough one.

Rusty.
