Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a proper look at what's on the cards for the next couple of weeks.
Right off the bat, I’ve got to be straight with you – it’s a pretty bleak stretch for Fishermans Reef. This spot is a very sheltered little reef that’s a beginner’s wave, but the problem is it rarely breaks, and the next 16 days are a proper write-off. There are no good surf options on the table, and the forecast shows nothing but "poor surf conditions" from start to finish. It’s one of those blank runs that just feels normal for an area that’s this tucked away. The combined wave energy tops out at a middling 444 on the Saturday afternoon of July 4th, but even then, you’re looking at 4ft of east swell with a moderate onshore wind and a messy lineup. Not worth paddling out for.
The best of a bad bunch might be a couple of mornings. On Wednesday July 8th, the wind swings offshore from the SSW, and we get a clean 4ft east swell (moderate energy of 176). That’s the best shape you’ll see, but it’s still small. Then on Saturday July 18th, you get a few glassy moments with tiny 2ft swell, but it’s barely enough to break. The water temp sits at a pretty normal 59°F for this time of year, so nothing unusual there.
Honestly, if the reef’s not firing, the whole 16-day window is a dud. You’re better off waiting for a proper system to breathe some life back into this place.
Rusty.
