Table - best surf conditions forecast for Algajola over the next 16 days.
G’day, Rusty here. Gotta be straight with you—this outlook for the next 16 days is a tough one. The finder shows zero recommendations for Algajola, meaning there’s nothing on offer that’s worth paddling out for. The guidance file calls it an inconsistent beginner spot, and this forecast run is a classic example of that. The good news is it’s inconsistent, not hopeless, so it tends not to stay poor for long and forecasts can change.
Right now, Saturday morning July 11th kicks off with glassy conditions but no swell at all—combined energy of 0. That’s a flat start. The water temperature is sitting at 80°, which is a whopping 7° warmer than usual for this time of year. That’s very unusual, so you’ll feel like you’re surfing in a warm bath, but there’s nothing to ride.
We roll through the next several days with a long gap of no surf. Sunday July 12th sees a tiny 0.3 ft swell from the south with a short period of 7 seconds, energy at just 1. You might get a knee-high bump, but it’s poor. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday—all flat or near-flat, with glassy mornings but no wave energy to speak of. This dry spell stretches all the way through to early the following week.
Finally, we get a little pulse on Saturday July 18th. The morning shows 3 ft from the west, period 7 seconds, with a cross-offshore wind from the SSW at 9 mph. It’s clean, but the combined energy is only 55—weak, tiny waves. By the afternoon, the swell jumps to 5 ft from the west, period 8 seconds, but wind cranks up to 19 mph from the WSW cross, creating lumpy, messy conditions. Energy hits 298 (moderate), but the quality is shot. That’s more of a kite-surfing setup than a paddling session.
Sunday July 19th offers 4 ft in the morning from the west, period 7 seconds, but cross-winds at 16 mph make it choppy. Energy at 150 (moderate). Not worth the effort.
The only half-decent window comes Monday July 21st morning. It’s still not a standout, but at 3 ft from the WSW, period 6 seconds, with a light cross-offshore wind from the SSW at 6 mph, conditions are clean. The combined energy is 55 (weak). The file says “surfable waves but very ordinary conditions,” and that’s about the best we’ve got. It’s small, weak, and you’ll be scratching for waves.
After that, Tuesday July 22nd morning has 4 ft from the west, period 8 seconds, glassy conditions, and energy at 196 (moderate). That’s the biggest clean swell of the whole run, but the period is short (8 seconds), so it’s a bit fat and crumbly. Still, if you’re desperate, it’s the pick of the bunch. The afternoon sees 6 ft from the north, period 6 seconds, but it’s onshore and marginal.
The rest of the period fades back into flat or windy rubbish. Overall, there’s no true standout. If you’re a beginner, the small glassy mornings might be okay for a pop, but don’t expect much.
Rusty.
