The Lowdown

Alright, let's be real with you. The next couple of weeks are looking pretty grim for waves. We've got a long stretch of flat, weak, and messy conditions ahead, so don't get your hopes up too early. There’s a solid gap of nothing on offer for the first few days, and the energy just isn't there.

The first real pulse shows up on Thursday the 17th. We'll see some west swell push in around 5ft, but it's short-period and has a cross-on breeze, so it's going to be lumpy and uninviting. Then the wind picks up more with a thunderstorm risk in the afternoon. That's a no-go.

We drop right back off after that, and it’s a waiting game again. There's a glimmer of life on the 22nd, but it’s still small and wind-shifty. Not worth the drive.

Then comes the one to circle: the morning of Thursday the 24th. The swell is up to 6ft from the west, with a light, clean cross-offshore wind. The energy is strong and the call is for good surf. That's your window. It’s more than a week away, so don’t book it in stone yet, but it’s the best chance we’ve got for a proper session. The water is much warmer than normal for this time of year, so a spring suit will do.

The afternoon is a bit more iffy with the wind turning onshore, so you’ll want to be on it early.

So, the summary: a lot of flat days, one poor and windy effort, and one solid morning of hope next Thursday. Keep the quiver ready, and don't forget to check back in.

Rusty.
