Table - best surf conditions forecast for Stinky Bay over the next 16 days.
Grab your board, but maybe don't get your hopes up too high. The next couple of weeks are looking pretty flat and quiet around here. Honestly, there's a big ol' gap of nothing good to start, so we're waiting a while for anything worth paddling out for.
We do have one spot to talk about, and it's a bit of a wildcard. Stinky Bay is a reef break, and it's the only game in town for this whole 16-day stretch. The water is sitting at 64°F, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year.
The first real chance you'll get is on Thursday morning, July 9th. It's not going to blow your mind, but it's the best of a quiet bunch. We're looking at a tiny 2ft swell rolling in from the W with a period of 10 seconds, and the combined energy is weak at (67). The wind is light and from the N at 9 mph, keeping things clean. It's surfable, but very ordinary. Friday morning, July 10th, also has a small 2ft W swell, but the wind goes offshore from the E at 12 mph, which will make for some clean little lines. It's still tiny stuff though.
After that, it really drops off. We get into a long stretch from the 11th through to the 19th of July where the swell is either non-existent or just too small and weak to do anything with. The energy numbers drop right down into single digits and teens. We get a few mornings of strong offshore wind, which sounds great, but when the swell is only 0.3ft to 1.0ft, all that wind does is make it impossible to even paddle into anything. It's a classic case of all wind and no wave.
So, to be straight with you, there are no real standouts here. This is a long blank run, and honestly, that's pretty normal for this area when the swell goes to sleep. You might get a couple of fun little ankle-snappers on Thursday and Friday morning of the 9th and 10th, but don't expect anything with any push. It's a waiting game now.
