Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, let’s break it down in feet and degrees.
I’m not gonna sugarcoat it – this stretch at Red Beach is a flat spell, plain and simple. We’re looking at a long, dry run with hardly anything to get excited about. From July 7th straight through to the 15th, it’s pretty much dead. No surf to speak of, just tiny, weak lumps.
The first real chance comes on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 15th. We get a tiny swell of about 1ft from the east, with a 12-second period. The wind goes offshore from the west-northwest at 9 mph, cleaning the surface right up. The combined wave energy is weak, at 77 (weak energy). It’s rideable, but just barely.
Then, on the morning of Tuesday, July 21st, we see another little pulse. Same deal – a tiny 1ft east swell with a 13-second period. The wind goes glassy, absolutely dead calm. That’s a huge plus for smooth, clean conditions. The energy is still weak, at 62 (weak energy), so don’t expect any push. That glassy, clean condition holds into Wednesday the 22nd of July, with the energy climbing a touch to 97 (still weak energy), but the swell direction shifts a bit east-northeast in the afternoon and the wind turns onshore.
Water temp is running at 59°F, which is just a hair under the normal for this time of year.
If I had to pick the best of a bad bunch, it’s those glassy mornings on the 21st and 22nd. They’ll be clean, but tiny. For anything with a bit of push, you’re out of luck.
