It’s a slow start, but the wait is going to pay off. The first few days are flat and messy, but we’ve got some real beauties lining up. The water is running at about 71°, which is a touch warmer than the usual for this time of year – feels good on the skin.

The first real chance to paddle out is Monday morning, September 7th. There’s a 6 ft swell from the south, with a period of 10 seconds, and the wind is glassy. The combined energy is moderate (751). That’s a solid, clean surf for the more experienced crew. The swell direction is a good match for the break. The morning is the pick – glassy conditions with light rain. The afternoon drops to 5 ft, still glassy, and the wind switches to the NE – still clean.

Tuesday, September 8th, is a true standout. Morning glass, dead calm, with a 6 ft swell from the ESE. The period is 8 seconds, and the combined energy is strong (664). The wind is zero – absolutely glassy. That’s a morning you’ll remember. The break will be clean and punchy. The afternoon is a bit more questionable on the wind, so get out there early.

Moderate, clean surf rolls through the rest of the week. Wednesday the 9th and Thursday the 10th offer smaller, glassy waves in the 4 ft to 3 ft range, with longer periods of 12 seconds. That’s a groundswell – it’ll have good shape, but the sets will be more spaced out. Friday the 11th stays small and clean, with a 2 ft swell from the south, 13-second period. All these mornings have glass wind. It’s not big, but it’s fun.

The second week gets more interesting. We’ve got a big spike on the 14th of September (Monday) – a 10 ft swell from the SSE with a 12-second period. That’s massive energy (2319). This is a day for experts only. The swell is too big for most, and the combined energy is very strong. The wind is glassy in the morning, but the size will be intimidating. The afternoon stays over 8 ft. If you’re not a pro, stay on the beach.

The following Tuesday, September 15th, is the real standout of the second week. A 6 ft swell from the SSE, 12-second period, with glassy morning wind. The combined energy is strong (1026). This is excellent, clean, powerful surf for experienced surfers. The swell direction is ideal, and the wind is perfect. This is the day to circle on the calendar.

The back half of the week sees the swell drop, with clean, smaller waves in the 3 ft to 4 ft range, but the wind stays mostly favorable. The last weekend of the outlook (September 20th) has a 5 ft swell from the SE with periods of 9 seconds, and a glassy or clean wind window. It’s a solid finish.

The crowds here can be a thing – it’s a spot that gets busy on clean days, so don’t expect to have it all to yourself. The break is fairly consistent, so the surf turns up. The best windows: Monday morning September 7th, Tuesday morning September 8th, and Tuesday morning September 15th. The 15th is the king of the run.
