Pendorcho Surf Forecast and Surf Report

Alright, let’s take a look at what’s coming up for Pendorcho. This is a point break, and it’s fairly consistent, but man, it’s a bit of a mixed bag over the next couple of weeks. The water is sitting at 54°F, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year – that’s a nice little bonus if you’re getting in the water early.

For the first few mornings, starting Thursday the 30th of July, we’ve got tiny surf, around 1ft to 2ft, with a long period swell from the SSE. The energy is weak (89 to 114), and the wind is cross or cross-off, so it’s clean but not really doing much. Friday and Saturday are similar – small, weak, and not worth getting excited about. There’s a bit of a pulse on Saturday morning the 1st of August, with 2ft from the east and a moderate offshore wind (104 energy), but it’s still pretty ordinary. Sunday the 2nd is flat and forgettable.

From Monday the 3rd of August into Tuesday the 4th, we see a slight bump with 3ft from the SSE, and the energy climbs a bit (180 on Monday morning), but the wind is mostly cross or onshore, messing up the surface. The period is decent, around 10-11 seconds, so there’s some shape potential, but the conditions just aren’t cooperating.

Then we hit a real dry spell. From Wednesday the 5th through to Sunday the 9th of August, it’s poor. Winds are either strong, cross-on, or gusty, and the swell is inconsistent and small. On Thursday the 6th afternoon, the wind swings SW at 25 mph, with a 6ft southerly swell that’s just messy – that’s kite-surfing territory, not paddle surfing. The energy is moderate (293), but the wind is just too strong and cross-on.

Now, let’s talk about the standout. Monday the 10th of August morning is when things start to get interesting. We’ve got a 4ft southerly swell with a 13-second period, and the energy jumps to 513 – that’s solid. The wind is WNW at 12 mph, cross-off, so it’s clean. It’s a promising start to the week, but still a bit marginal.

But the real gem is Tuesday the 11th of August morning. This is the one to circle. The swell builds to 6ft from the south, with an 11-second period, and the energy is pumping at 786. The wind is glassy – literally from the NNE at just 3 mph – so it’s dead calm. This is a point break, and that long-period groundswell will wrap in beautifully. It’s going to be clean, lined-up, and punchy. Just be aware, at 6ft, it’s getting a bit meaty for beginners. But for intermediates and up, this is the best session on offer. The crowd can be present here sometimes, so get in early.

Wednesday the 12th of August morning holds some size, 6ft from the SSE with a 13-second period and 947 energy, but the wind is cross from the east, so it won’t be as clean as Tuesday. The afternoon gets a bit choppy. After that, the swell starts to fade, and by Thursday the 13th and Friday the 14th, we’re back to small, weak, and cross-on conditions.

So, the call is clear: Tuesday morning the 11th of August is the standout. Glassy, solid south swell, and plenty of energy. If you can only pick one session, that’s it.
