Table - best surf conditions forecast for Les Dunes over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cookin’ for the next couple of weeks.
Well, I gotta be straight with you – it’s a pretty bleak stretch ahead for Les Dunes. The forecast is showing a whole lot of nothing for the first two weeks. We’re talking from now, through the 10th of July all the way up to the 24th of July, the call is just poor surf conditions. Nothing is worth paddling out for. The swell is tiny, the wind is mostly working against us, and the energy is weak. You’ll see a few little bumps but nothing that’s going to get your heart racing.
There is a glimmer of hope, but it's a long way off. The standout moment, and I mean the *only* moment, is looking like Saturday morning, the 25th of July. The swell is expected to push up to 4ft from the west, with a period of 9 seconds. The combined energy of all swells here is moderate (270), which is a big jump from the weak numbers we’ve been seeing. The wind is forecast to be light offshore from the north-northwest, which will make it clean. The issue here is the swell might actually be too big for this break, which is a pretty wild thing to say after all this flatness. It’s a beginner-friendly spot, so that kind of size could make it a handful. But if you’re an experienced surfer, this is the only window on the board. It’s a long-range call, so keep your fingers crossed, but it’s the best we’ve got.
The water temp is much warmer than normal for this time of year at 70°, so at least you won’t need a thick suit if you do decide to go for a paddle on one of the flat, glassy days.
Overall, it’s a long, dry spell with just one promising, but uncertain, day at the end.
