Table - best surf conditions forecast for Inch Reefs over the next 16 days.
Alright, this is Rusty.
Right off the bat, the first few days look pretty inviting. We’ve got a pulse of moderate, clean swell heading for Inch Reefs. Wednesday morning is the standout early on – a solid 5ft of swell out of the WNW with a 10-second period and glassy conditions. The combined energy is sitting at a moderate 377, and the water temperature is about average for this time of year. This is a classic point break setup that loves a groundswell, and with the wind dead calm, it’s going to be clean and lined up. Expect long, peeling waves for the advanced crew. Crowds are sometimes a factor here, but that quality of wave on a Wednesday morning should thin the pack out a bit.
Later Wednesday afternoon and into Thursday, the wind shifts cross-onshore and the quality drops off – it’ll be a bit bumpy and messy. Friday morning cleans up with a small 3ft swell and light offshore NW wind, but the energy is very weak (149) and it’s a short-period wind swell, so it’s really just a knee-high option for a paddle.
From Saturday morning right through to the 23rd, we hit a major dry spell. For nearly two weeks there’s barely a ripple – wave heights drop to 0.3ft to 2ft, periods get long and the combined energy readings fall into double digits, peaking only around 86. There’s no real surf on offer; this period is a write-off for the paddle surfer, and with the wind staying cross-off or clean, it’s more of a flat spell with clean water.
In short, Wednesday morning is your golden window. A classic Inch Reefs session with good energy, clean glass, and the right direction. After that, put the board away until late July – the forecast looks quiet for a long, long time.
Stay tuned, forecasts can change. For now, I’d be in the water Wednesday. Rusty.
