Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, let’s break it down. Monday, July 6th, is a write-off – swell around 4ft but onshore wind and poor conditions mean you’re not missing much. Water temp is 63°F, which is 4°F warmer than usual, so that’s a warm welcome if you do paddle out.
Tuesday, July 7th, morning at Inch Reefs (point) looks nice. Glassy conditions with a light W wind at 6 mph. Swell is 4ft from the WNW with a 10-second period, combined energy of 336 (moderate). That glassy wind is gold – you’ll get clean peeling waves off that exposed SW-facing reef. Crowds can show up sometimes, so beat the rush. This is the first real standout.
Friday, July 10th, morning is the next good call. Swell 4ft from the WNW, period pushing 11 seconds – that’s a groundswell with more punch. Combined energy hits 447 (moderate-strong). Wind is NNE at 12 mph, cross-off, and it’s clean. A point break will handle that longer period well, giving you better shaped waves with more energy between sets. That’s your best bet of the first week.
Saturday and Sunday, July 11th and 12th, flat out drop off. Swell is barely 0.3ft with a long 17-second period – basically nothing. That dry spell stretches through most of the following week, with only tiny inconsistent pulses. Then Thursday afternoon, July 16th, a pulse arrives – 6ft from the WSW at 9 seconds, combined energy 560 (moderate-strong), clean with cross-off wind. That’s the biggest and most energetic swell in over a week. Another standout, but it’s over a week out, so keep watching.
Monday, July 20th, the swell pumps up to 12ft from the west at 9 seconds, energy reading 1808 (strong). Morning is glassy with light E wind, but that’s way too big for most – experts only. The afternoon drops to 6ft from the WSW, much more manageable, energy still solid at 476. Tuesday, July 21st, goes back to 12ft with energy over 2600 – that’s serious water, only for experienced surfers.
So the real standouts are Tuesday morning July 7th for glassy clean fun, Friday morning July 10th for the best combo of size, period and wind, and Thursday afternoon July 16th for a bigger, powerful clean swell. The big stuff on July 20th and 21st is only for the brave.
Rusty.
