Table - best surf conditions forecast for Rossbeigh Strand over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s take a look at what’s shaping up for our local stretch.
Alright, so the first bit of decent surf we see is on Wednesday morning, July 8th. It kicks off with a clean 4.3ft swell from the west, with a lovely 10-second period and a glassy wind. That's a great start. The water temp is about average for the time of year, so nothing wild there.
But honestly, the real standout of the whole run is Friday morning, July 10th. We’ve got a solid 3.3ft swell from the west-northwest, but the key is the period jumps up to 11 seconds, and the wind is a light cross-offshore breeze. That’s a recipe for clean, lined-up waves. The combined energy (392) is the highest we see, so it’ll have some real push. This is the session to aim for.
The rest of the first week is a bit of a mixed bag. Thursday looks a little bumpy, and by Saturday we’re dropping to a smaller 2.9ft ride with moderate winds. Sunday and Monday are flat as a pancake, with energy barely above 40 - not worth getting wet for.
Now, here’s the deal for the second week. We hit a proper dry spell. From Tuesday, July 14th, we get a tiny pulse of energy (171) with some 1.3ft swell and offshore winds, but it’s very ordinary. After that, it's mostly flat with poor conditions all the way until the end of the run – a lot of days with energy in the 30s and 50s. There’s a little spike again on Wednesday, July 22nd, with a 4.6ft west-northwest swell and some clean morning winds, but the forecast is far off and the conditions are described as marginal, so keep an eye on it but don’t hold your breath.
So, to wrap it up: Wednesday morning is a nice opener, but Friday morning, July 10th at Rossbeigh Strand is the clear winner. It’s a beginner-friendly spot (fairly consistent), and with that offshore wind and long period, it’s going to be a treat. The crowd factor there is ‘sometimes’, so you might have a few friends out, but nothing too hectic.
Stay salty.
