Table - best surf conditions forecast for Rossbeigh Strand over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here again, but I’ll switch to feet and miles for this one.
The 16-day look starts off with some small, clean fun, but the real gem is tucked away a long way out. There are gaps where you won’t want to bother, so patience is key.
Friday 10 July is your first real window. Rossbeigh Strand has a clean 3ft swell out of the WNW, with an 11-second period, and a light offshore breeze from the NNE. Water temp is about 63°, which is a touch warmer than usual for this time of year. The combined swell energy is moderate (354). It’s a solid, clean beginner-friendly wave. The wind shifts later in the day, so the morning is your best bet.
Saturday 11 July is similar – 3ft WNW swell, period down to 9 seconds, still clean with a light offshore. It’s a bit weaker but still surfable. After that, it goes quiet.
From Sunday 12 July through to Friday 17 July, the swell dries up. Heights drop below 2ft, with very weak energy. Even though some mornings are glassy, there’s nothing to ride. That’s a long stretch of flat conditions.
Tuesday 21 July sees the swell return, with a 7ft WNW swell and a 10-second period, producing strong energy (743). It’s raining and blowing onshore, though, so not ideal.
The real standout is Wednesday 22 July morning. Rossbeigh Strand is looking at a 5ft WNW groundswell with a 9-second period and glassy, calm conditions. The combined energy is strong (423). This is clean, solid surf, and the best chance of the whole forecast. It’s more than a week out, so keep an eye on it.
Later in July, the swell stays big, sometimes over 6ft, but onshore wind messes up the surface. That kind of setup might be better for kite surfing.
In short: hit Friday 10 July morning for clean small waves, and mark Wednesday 22 July morning as the one to watch for the best conditions with real power. The rest of the time is mostly a wait-and-see.
Rusty.
