Table - best surf conditions forecast for Ha Golshim over the next 16 days.
Hey folks, Rusty here. Let’s be straight up about this one. We’re looking at a real quiet stretch ahead for Ha-Golshim, so don’t get your hopes up for anything exciting. The swell is tiny and the wind is mostly working against us for the next couple of weeks. There’s a big gap of nothing worthwhile from now until late July.
First up, the water is sitting at 82° – a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, so at least you won’t need a thick suit.
The first real glimmer comes on the morning of Thursday, 16th July. It’s not huge, but we’ve got 3ft of swell from the WNW with a period of 8 seconds, and the wind is glassy – dead calm. That’s about as clean as it gets around here. The combined energy is weak (93), so you’ll be scratching for waves, but the lack of any wind chop means it’ll be smooth. Perfect for a beginner to get some practice, but don’t expect any power. It’s inconsistent, so you’ll be sitting and waiting. Crowds are possible, but with waves this small, it won’t be packed.
After that, we slide back into nothing for over a week. The mornings of Friday 17th and Saturday 25th July also show glassy conditions, but the swell is even smaller – 2ft and 4ft respectively – and the energy is still weak (25 and 133). The 25th has a bit more size, but it’s still only a 7-second period, so it’ll be mushy. The wind stays clean, but the waves just aren’t there.
The only other blip of note is Saturday afternoon, 25th July, where the swell bumps up to 5ft from the W with a 7-second period, and the energy hits moderate (203). But the wind is cross-onshore and choppy, so it’ll be a mess. That’s more of a kite-surfing afternoon than a paddle session.
Honestly, unless you’re desperate for a glassy, tiny wave to bob around on, this stretch is a write-off. The swell is too small, the period is short, and the wind is onshore most days. It’s a blank run that’s pretty normal for this place when it’s this sheltered. Forecasts can change, but right now, I’d leave the board at home.
Rusty.
