Alright folks, Rusty here.
It’s a rough outlook for our Lake Erie stretch. Over the next 16 days, there’s barely a ripple to get excited about. Just one tiny window of rideable waves at the start of next week, then we’re looking at a long, flat stretch.
The only flicker of hope is on Monday, the 6th of July. Early morning we get a small pulse from the NNE around 3ft with a period of 6 seconds. The combined energy is weak (41). The wind will be out of the ENE, giving us a clean, offshore breeze, so what little is there will look nice. The water is sitting at 75°, which is much warmer than normal for this time of year. That Monday afternoon the wind swings NE and picks up to 19 mph, chopping it up, so the morning is your only shot.
After that morning, it’s a complete flat spell. Zeros and "poor surf conditions" stretch all the way through the rest of the forecast. By the second week, it’s all onshore junk or flat calm. Erie is a consistent spot for the lake, but right now it’s not happening.
If you’re aching to get out, that Monday morning is the only call. It’s small stuff, only for beginners. Otherwise, park the board.
Rusty.
