Table - best surf conditions forecast for Erie over the next 16 days.
Hey, Rusty here. Look, I’m not gonna sugarcoat it – the next couple weeks on Lake Erie are looking flat as a pancake. We’re talking a long, dry spell with no real surf from now straight through to July 28th.
The energy just isn’t there. The combined swell energy is stuck at zero or barely a blip on the radar the whole time. The biggest bump we get is a 0.5ft wave on Wednesday morning the 15th, coming from the west with a short, weak 4-second period. With that cross-onshore breeze, it’s a total dud. Even the clean moments, like that glassy Friday afternoon the 17th with a tiny 0.2ft ripple out of the north, are too small to even think about.
It’s one of those dead periods for the lake. Might look fun for a kite if the wind picks up, but for a surfboard? Leave it in the car. Things can change, but right now, this is about as quiet as it gets.
Rusty.
