Table - best surf conditions forecast for Erie over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Gotta be honest with you – this is a rough one. Looking at the whole 16-day window for Erie, there's absolutely nothing going on. Not a single day with any real surf. We've got a big fat blank run from today, July 8th, all the way through to July 23rd.
There's zero swell energy for the whole stretch. The combined energy numbers are a flat `0` for almost every session. We see a few tiny, short-period wind bumps – a few 0.7ft to 1.3ft readings with periods of 2 to 4 seconds – but that's just lake chop, not a wave you can ride. It's all "poor surf conditions," and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.
The wind does go glassy a few times – like Wednesday morning, July 8th, and again on Saturday morning, July 11th – but with nothing showing on the swell front, it's just a flat, glassy lake. Nice for a paddle board, not for a surf.
So, there's no standout. Nothing to highlight. If you're waiting for a wave, this is a long, dry spell. For this area, a blank run like this is pretty normal. The water temp is way above normal for this time of year, around 76°, but that doesn't help when there are no waves. Keep an eye on the forecast – things can change – but for now, leave the board at home. Might be worth checking if the kite surfers are having fun with that afternoon cross-onshore wind, because that's the only action on the water.
