The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's talk about what's on the table for the next 16 days.
We're looking at a pretty grim stretch overall, I've got to be honest. The whole period kicks off with a bit of a pulse on Monday the 24th of August, but it's not one to get excited about. There's a west-northwest swell showing up around 5ft, but the period is a short 6 seconds – just a windswell with no real punch. The wind is cross-onshore at 19 mph, making a mess of it. The combined swell energy is only 197, which is weak. That setup is more appealing for kite surfers than anyone with a paddle. By the afternoon it drops to 5ft, still choppy and junk. From Tuesday the 25th onwards, we're looking at a massive dry spell. The swell collapses to practically nothing – 2ft or less – and we get a solid week and a half of clean but completely flat conditions. There's a glimmer of something on the horizon for Sunday, September 7th, but it’s over a week away and there's no wave height to speak of, just a clean offshore wind. Honestly, there's no standouts here. Zero recommended breaks in the window. The lake is just not playing ball, but with this many consistent flat days, it's just the way it goes around here sometimes. Forecasts can change, so don't lose the faith yet, but right now, leave the board in the bag.
