The Lowdown

Alright, Rusty here again, switchin’ to the old standard.

The first few days are a struggle. The wind is cross-onshore, the surf is choppy and weak, and you’re not gonna find much to ride from the 21st through the 23rd. The swell energy is low (around 688 to 820), and it’s just bumpy, messy lines.

It starts to get a little more interesting around the 24th and 25th. The wave size drops a bit, but the period jumps up to 24 seconds on the 24th morning – that’s real long-interval groundswell. The energy goes up to 1211, which is solid. The wind is lighter but still cross-on. The surf is still a bit marginal, tide might be playing games, but there’s potential.

The real standout is the 28th, Tuesday morning. The swell is 1.4m from the SW, period at 17 seconds, and the wind is light and offshore. That’s clean, powerful groundswell – combined energy hits 1522. That’s the best session of the forecast. The waves will have shape and push.

After that, the swell fades slowly through the 29th and 30th, still rideable with lighter winds. By the 31st, it’s back to small, weak, and choppy. A little bump on the 1st of August, but the wind is onshore again, making it sloppy. The rest of the run is small and weak.

Bottom line: get after the 28th. That’s the one.

Rusty.
