Table - best surf conditions forecast for El Palito over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s talk about the surf outlook for El Palito.
Honestly, I’ve gotta be straight with you – the next couple of weeks don’t look too flash. The waves are small, the wind is mostly not on our side, and the conditions are pretty poor. There’s a long stretch from the start of the forecast right through till the 18th of July where there’s almost nothing worth paddling out for. If you’re desperate for a paddle, there are a few tiny, poor quality windows, but this is a tough run for a beach and breakwater setup.
The first hint of anything comes on Saturday morning, 11 July. There’s a small 4ft NE swell rolling in, but it’s short period at 7 seconds, so it’s weak and messy. The combined energy is only 130 (weak), and the wind is onshore from the NNE at 6 mph. It’s not going to be clean or fun. Later that afternoon, a risk of thunderstorms and a cross-onshore breeze kills it.
The rest of the first week stays flat. The next tiny bump shows up on the 19th, a Sunday morning, with a 3ft NE swell, again short period, and light onshore winds. The energy is even weaker at 89, and it’s still labelled poor. Not worth getting excited about.
The best of a bad bunch – and I’m using the term loosely – looks like the 25th of July, a Saturday morning. There’s a small 2ft NE swell, with glassy conditions and a light NE breeze at 3 mph. The combined energy is 44 (weak), but it’ll be clean. For a beginner-friendly spot like this, if you just want to get wet and catch a few knee-high rolls, that’s your moment. But don’t expect any power or shape.
The water temperature anomaly is about average for the time of year, so nothing weird there.
There’s no standout day in this forecast. No big swell, no perfect wind. If you’re a beginner and you’re happy with tiny, clean waves, the 25th morning is your best shot. Otherwise, it’s a wait-and-see situation. With the break being fairly consistent, it won’t stay this quiet forever, but for now, it’s a flat spell.
Rusty.
