The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here. Let's talk about what's cooking in the water.
Alright, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this 16-day window is looking pretty flat for Crash Boat. The finder is basically screaming "poor surf conditions" from start to finish, so we're in for a long, quiet stretch. There's a big gap of nothing from the start right through to the end of next week, so don't be in a rush to grab your board.
We've got a few tiny pulses of energy, but nothing that's going to get the heart racing. For instance, on the morning of Friday the 22nd of August, we're looking at a tiny 0.7ft swell from the south, with a short period of 5 seconds. The combined energy is a measly 2. That's barely a ripple. The wind is offshore from the northeast though, so it'll be clean and glassy, but there's just no power behind it.
Things do perk up ever so slightly right at the tail end of the month. On the morning of Monday the 31st of August, we see a little bump to 2ft from the south, with a period of 7 seconds. The combined energy jumps to 35, which is still weak, but it's the most we've got. The wind is a gentle offshore breeze from the ENE, keeping it clean. But really, this is still too small for a proper surf.
The rest of the period is more of the same: tiny swells, mostly under 0.7ft, with very low energy. The best we can hope for is some glassy conditions on a few mornings, like the 25th of August or the 5th of September, but with no swell to speak of. It's a tough run for Crash Boat, and it's a blank run that's pretty normal for this area when the conditions line up like this. Nothing to get excited about, I'm afraid.
