Updates in  hr  min  s Forecast update imminent

Alright folks, Rusty here. Gotta be straight with you straight away – this forecast for Crash Boat is a tough one to write. Looking at the whole 16-day window, there’s just nothing happening. It’s a proper flat spell, no two ways about it.

We’re looking at a solid run of days with barely a ripple. From now right through until at least Friday the 10th of July, the swell is tiny, mostly around 0.7ft. The wind is often offshore or clean, but with no wave energy behind it, you’re just staring at a lake. The combined energy readings are in the single digits (4 to 6) for that first week – that’s about as weak as it gets. Sure, the water’s warm at 84°, which is 2° warmer than average for this time of year, but that’s small comfort when you can’t paddle. The break is inconsistent at the best of times, so a run of 14 days or so with zero recommendations isn’t a surprise for this spot.

Into the second week, we start to see a tiny pulse of S swell on the 10th, pushing up to 1ft with a longer 10-second period, and the energy climbs to 36 (36). The wind is offshore and clean, but it’s still just not enough to surf. The same story carries on through to the 17th of July, with a similar N swell showing a bit more energy (26) on Friday afternoon the 17th, but the height stays stuck at 1ft. The long period groundswell (8 to 11 seconds) would be ideal for the reef and setup here, but there’s simply no size.

There’s no standout session here, no best day. It’s a flat, quiet outlook. If you’ve got a kite, the offshore winds and clean conditions over a flat ocean might be your scene, but for paddle surfing? Park your board and check back next week. Forecasts can change, but right now, this is a long empty stretch.

Rusty.
