Table - best surf conditions forecast for Crash Boat over the next 16 days.
Alright crew, Rusty here with the bad news. This outlook for Crash Boat is a flat spell. Over the 16 days, the swell is barely a ripple, and everything is tagged "poor surf conditions." There’s a big stretch of nothing to ride, so don’t rush.
The first record is Friday, July 10th, but the swell is just 0.7ft from the south, with a 6-second period. The combined energy is a weak 4. Wind is a moderate offshore from the ENE at 16 mph, which cleans things up, but there’s no wave. This same pattern drags on for days. Through Saturday, Sunday, and into the next week, it’s all 0.7ft, short periods, and energy readings in the single digits. The water temp is 84°F with a 2°F anomaly, so about normal for the season.
The only faint highlight comes around July 20th and 22nd. On Monday, July 20th morning, we get a glassy calm with a NW wind at 3 mph, but the swell is still 0.7ft from the south. Clean as a mirror, but nothing to ride. On Wednesday, July 22nd afternoon, another glassy moment with a NW wind, again just 0.7ft. No energy behind it.
The wind is offshore most of the time, but the swell is so weak and short-period that it’s a waste of energy. The biggest combined energy I see is 14 on Thursday, July 16th afternoon, but with a 1ft, 8-second swell, it’s just a bump. The setup is a sheltered beach and reef, so it’s not picking up any proper west swell. A few days show zero swell, with energy at 0.
Bottom line: there’s no surf to speak of. The best you get is a glassy, tiny wave on July 20th or 22nd, but if you’re a kite surfer, the steady offshore winds might be more fun. It’s a flat run, but forecasts can change.
Rusty, signing off.
