Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s coming down the line at Playa Varesse over the next 16 days.
Right off the bat, the first few days are pretty flat and ordinary – we’ve got some small, weak swells but nothing worth paddling out for until Tuesday morning (July 7). That session brings a 3.6ft south swell with moderate energy (246) and a gentle cross-offshore breeze. It’s surfable, but the conditions are very ordinary – not exactly firing.
Then we go through a lull again: Wednesday and Thursday have tiny waves, mostly under 3ft, with cross-off or glassy winds but barely enough push to ride. Thursday morning (July 9) is glassy with a 2.3ft ESE swell, period 10s, but energy is only 91 – really weak.
Now, the real standout comes on Saturday July 11. The morning kicks off with a 4.3ft SE swell, short period (6s), but combined energy is moderate at 367, and the wind is light offshore from the SW. That’s clean and punchy for a beach break like this. The afternoon session is even better: the swell drops to 2.3ft but it’s from ESE – bang on the optimum direction – with a long 14-second period and energy jumping to 497 (strong). Winds go light offshore from the WSW, so expect glassy lines. However, that long period at a beach break might break a bit too straight, so keep that in mind – but the quality is there. Crowds are possible here, as it’s sometimes busy.
After Saturday, the surf goes downhill pretty fast. Sunday and Monday are blown out by strong southerly winds, and the week after that is all small, choppy junk. Sunday July 19 shows a pulse of
