Table - best surf conditions forecast for Playa Varesse over the next 16 days.
G'day, Rusty here. Look, I've gotta be straight with you—this stretch of coast is lookin' pretty flat for the next couple of weeks. We're in for a long run of weak, messy surf, and honestly, there's not a single standout session that'll get the heart racing. The first real blip on the radar isn't until the morning of Sunday the 22nd of July, and even then, it's a bit of a letdown.
From right now, we've got nothing. Day after day of tiny, choppy, or crossed-up waves. Monday the 13th and Tuesday the 14th might show a little waist-high swell, but the wind is just terrible—cross-shore or cross-on all the way, with a fresh breeze making things lumpy. The energy is weak (around 140–189), and the water temperature is sitting at about 50°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, so at least the water's not a shock.
The first time we even see a "surfable" mention is on the morning of the 20th of July, but it's barely a ripple at 2 ft from the east, with a light offshore breeze. The combined energy is a paltry 90—honestly, you'd be better off just having a paddle. Then there's a bit of a tease on the 22nd of July: a 5 ft swell from the southeast on Wednesday morning, with moderate energy (504), but it's been written off as poor conditions. That afternoon, it drops to 5 ft with a clean cross-off breeze, but the conditions are still rated poorly. It's frustrating.
The best we can hope for is the morning of the 23rd of July. Finally, a proper offshore wind from the west at 19 mph, clean conditions, and a 3 ft swell from the southeast with a period of 10 seconds. The energy is a modest 121, but it's glassy. That's the only window where the waves might actually hold together. The swell is small, so it's fine for all levels, but don't expect any power.
There's a bigger pulse on the 27th of July—a 4 ft to 4 ft swell from the south with a long period of 11 to 13 seconds, and the energy jumps up to 520. That's a proper groundswell, but it's coming with onshore and light rain, so it'll be a mess. The longer period means it'll be better at a point or reef, but with the wind on it, it's a write-off.
So, to sum it up: we've got a 16-day window with almost nothing. The 23rd of July morning is the pick of a very poor bunch—clean, offshore, but tiny. For a beginning spot, that might be enough for a fun little session. Keep an eye on the charts, though; it tends not to stay this flat for long.
Rusty.
