Table - best surf conditions forecast for Trestrignel over the next 16 days.
Alright, let's have a look at what's on the cards for Trestrignel. To be straight with you, it's a bit of a lean period ahead. For the next couple of weeks, there's honestly nothing that's gonna get the stoke levels up. We've got a long run of days where the conditions just aren't cooperating. From Wednesday the 8th of July right through until the 23rd of July, the surf is either too small, too messy, or the wind is just blowing it to bits. There's a real gap there, over two weeks of pretty ordinary stuff. The one little glimmer, and I mean a *little* one, shows up around Thursday the 23rd of July.
Let's talk about that Thursday morning. On the 23rd of July, we get a shift. The wind swings around to the SSE at 12 mph, turning offshore. That'll clean things right up. We're looking at a WNW swell pushing in at about 4 ft, with a period of 7 seconds. The combined energy is in the moderate range (224), so there's a bit of push behind it. The water temp is sitting at 63°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year. That morning is your best chance to get a few waves, with clean conditions. The afternoon sees the swell back off a touch to 3 ft and the wind goes cross-off, so it stays clean but loses a bit of power.
For the rest of the outlook, it's just a write-off. The earlier part of the period has small, weak swell with onshore or cross-shore winds that ruin any chance of a good wave. It's a tough stretch. The setup here is a sheltered spot, so it takes a specific window to work, and unfortunately, that window is tiny.
So, if you're keen, pencil in Thursday the 23rd of July. The morning session with that offshore wind is the only real highlight. It's not going to be pumping, but it'll be rideable and clean.
Rusty.
